Jack's nickname is Pieface. They're not just randomly calling a housemate a random insult, it's his own nickname.

its cruel

It's also what he calls himself.

Which I'm sure is down to the increasing pressures on society's men to conform to nicknames or summat.

I don't think you're understanding, it's what he calls himself, I'm pretty sure he introduced himself as that in his vt iirc, it's not cruel.

Well Jack said it in his VT..that's how he is known. It's not an endearing name. However it's not like any of the housemates refer to him...so they should stop mentioning it TBF..it just sounds cruel now.

yes sexist....it really isn't that complicated, people would never call a woman pieface especially not tv presenters like politically correct rylan, but with a man its ok.........double standards equals sexism!!:nono:

At a push, it's slightly sizeist if you ignore that it's a self-imposed nickname... but I think we may be well and truly through the looking glass here.

Of course, because according to you appearing in a reality TV show and having arguments with HM's is comparable to a nutty child killer.

I guess she should be arrested and given a life sentence then.

Not sure, might mean something different in the UK. Somebody here said Rylan was being a "bigot" for saying that, meaning the term refers to a group of people with some type of belief or common race.

I think pieface sounds derogatory yet I suspect that Jack would be pleased enough if the HMs had picked up on this at the start and used it throughout.Perhaps Pieman would sound better.

I like nick names and providing they are acceptable to the person concerned they can be a positive part of friendship and bonding.

If I was a current HM I would be calling marc Testube. Now I am not a fan of the bloke but suspect he would not be unhappy about this.

Similar to angel face where the person would have the face of an angel, pie face resembles that of a pie.

In Jacks case, The term pieface generally refers to a person who feeds his fat face on pies and indicates his issues regarding weight. Rylan is being an arsehole as usual and showing his bais as he always does.

Gender has nothing to do with it. Let's not forget Sophie being nicknamed 'Dogface' by Big Brother.

This thread is possibly the most surreally illogical one ever to appear on a forum. That aside, it's probably even naffer than the current series of BB.

Let's clarify AGAIN some basic points about the original question.

JACK CALLS HIMSELF 'PIEFACE'.

HE CAME INTO THE HOUSE WITH THE NICKNAME.

IT IS AKIN TO (random example) SEAN COOMBES DECIDING TO CALL HIMSELF 'PUFF DADDY', 'P DIDDY' OR 'DIDDY'.

Ultimately, who are you to tell Jack he's not allowed to be called by his nickname?

There's nothing worse than people contriving situations to be offended on behalf of others.

Amy Jade

This is surely a trolling thread?

Jack calls himself Pieface, his twitter is Pieface - Rylan isn't being sexist in his use AT ALL because Jack approves of it and even explained in his VT all his friends use it.

Tbf, it's obviously how Jack marketed himself to get into BB. He mentioned the "pieface" viral video of himself eating a pie on a wall in his VT, and Emma entrance interview. Maybe producers must have really liked it and put him forward. It's not as if Rylan randomly plucked it out of thin air. Jack probably embraces the nickname to empower himself and take control of the insult.
