Unfair on the BB16 HM's

This legends thing has dragged on far too long, in fact it probably shouldn't even have been done in the first place.

The highlights have basically been focusing on Helen, Brian and Nikki and now Brian is gone they have chucked Aisleyne in to cause drama with Helen and will now focus on that.

There are eight BB16 housemates facing an eviction this week and we are barely getting any footage of them, I mean I never saw Harry once last night until right near the end of the show and even then it was a glimpse of her side on.

How is that fair? they are extras in their own series :umm2:

...yeah Josy I totally agree, I said similar in another thread a few days ago and those are exactly my thoughts....this whole thing is not only a 'lack of belief' in the 'civilian' housemates, more or less saying their pretty boring but instead of bringing the drama/controversy in...(although I do like things to be more natural..)...they should have contrived more situations of 'dramz' for the civilians rather than them being completely dominated and overshadowed in airtime that has been focused on the exes....but it's also a lack of confidence in themswelve..(BB..)...because it's not only saying that they're fairly rubbish at choosing interesting housemates etc but that they're also having to rehash/recycle stuff from the past and that's not a good sign for fans to have confidence in the show...

My thoughts exactly if these ex house mates are considered legends (and I cannot see why)then stick them in CBB.I still feel disappointed RE the Four evicted in one go all could have developed into good HMs given the chance.

I don't really understand the thinking this time round.

Instead of this BB's Actors crap, how about they actually become more strict with the tasks, punish the Housemates over appropriate things and not for “Jack farted in Nikki's face” which I swear they would do if it ever happens.

Basically take the Duvets away and become more strict, show them having to do the Shopping list too and less arguments and more fun, we need a balance and I think that we would see a better series for it.

they cant afford to have a show about Nick and Harry or Joel and Danny and still expect the ad dollar to come in

maybe 10 years ago but not now with the twitter generation and attention spans being greatly reduced

Absolutely loved this show once but now with each passing series I find it getting more and more ridiculous and harder and harder to watch with what little they give us to watch which of course, they limit it so as we get just what they want to manipulate us with seeing. What a joke, they take viewers money and give little in return because they think most want to watch Jerry Springer type of shows rather than fun entertainment.

I kind of disagree.

BB isn't necessarily giving the legends more airtime or attention, obviously they're bigger characters than the originals, but I don't really feel that they are taking that much away from the other housemates. Harry, Sam, and Chloe have been affected, i'll agree on that. But I don't see anything unfair about it. They were really put in to give the original hms something to play with and it's the original hms fault if they aren't rising to the occasion.

I am surprised how much focus has gone to the "legends". Who needs to analyse yet again people that are not even in the running to win the show :shrug:

I can see a lot of the originals being very angry when they leave and see the last two weeks of highlights hasn't shown them at all.

I totally agree. The legends were to go in there for ONE week now we hardly see anything from the original housemates. One week and it would have been entertaining now its bloody sickening

I am really sick of these past housemates and their dramas getting all the highlights and the original housemates virtually ignored.

It is disrespectful to have chosen so many people for a BB series to have it hijacked by BB bringing in and extending the stay of past housemates.

I said yesterday night, there are 8 of them up for eviction this week.we the viewers are being asked to spend money deciding who to evict, yet all we are seeing is the nonsense from the past housemates and nothing of the others really.

Whoever the production team is for this BB series, they need sacking,they have made this a total farce.

It is pretty easy to predict what the show would be like given how we've seen them the past 6-7 weeks. All the interesting hms from this series minus Joel and Marc are gone. My only disappointment is that since the twist Chloe has definitely gone into herself more when I considered her to be one of the more entertaining ones before. Just my opinion though.

When BB16 was boring which was the week before the 4 in 4 out it was getting like 800 - 900k viewers which is dire but with all what is going on now its getting 1.2 - 1.35M

Exactly. It really isn't complicated. We are living in a different time now. Back then, people wouldn't mind watching Nick and Harry's relationship unfold or seeing Joel and Danny talk about nothing. But times have changed. People have way more options now and access to other sources of entertainment and plus, there's so many other things on TV.

So the producers want to do anything possible to get people talking about the show. And the drama and arguments that the legends are causing are at least bringing headlines and that's good enough for the network. The legends are generating interest and that's all that matters.

They should have got rid of the leg ends last Friday as was planned.
Total overkill now, I suppose it is down to the viewing figures.
If we want change we need to turn it off for a few nights, en masse.

We haven't had a chance to connect with the civvie HM's, there's been very little shown on the tasks, this is when we see their personalities/competitiveness/laughter and frustration.

The legends have completely taken over, how are we supposed to pick a winner or back a favourite when we don't even know them:shrug:

Of course they are going to appear boring when the legends leave because there will be no arguments/stress, we have now gotten used to a full on house.

I don't see anyway out of this mess, they should cancel it and split the money between the civvies for ****ing up what should have been an amazing experience.

Right. Who cares about the originals when the legends are the ones who are really doing something in there and bringing actual excitement. They are generating heated discussions and interest and that's why the producers are scared to get rid of them.

... and that is the main point, it was all well and good to have some past housemates in for a weekend but this is not an ultimate series or a celebrity series.

We now have no idea really just as to how the house would have developed left to get on with things.
All has been really stifled and early on too, by these ex housemates going in.

However to then have so much of the highlights and activity all centred around the past housemates, who in the end have acted far worse than the original housemates is just wrong.

Things had already woken up when Marc,Harry,Sam and Simon had gone in,problems were coming forward and a mixture of laughs and arguments were forthcoming.

Who knows for sure how it may have turned out,really however has this last week been that much better than before.

Yes it is very unfair! I said in another thread, they are bring sidelined by the 'legends'. If I was a housemate I'd be fuming.
