I think he was trying to tell Helen that she was a **** in a language that she could understand, and tbf, job done. He made a prick of her.

I think what he was trying to say, was that what she'd said to Brian was so bad that even he would have had a go at her, that's how i interpreted it anyway.

I don't think he was trying to prove anything, he was trying to make her see that her behaviour was really unacceptable.
