Utter trash, ruins the element of the show as the HoH should never end up on the block on the same week.
Josiah.

I love it, because it adds a new perspective on the game; and I also think that it could be a permanent part of the game in a few seasons.

One of the worst twists BBUS has ever had. Good idea in practice but it's a season ruiner. Well, it was last year.
The worst byproduct of it though is the disgusting nominations ceremony with key blocks as opposed to the wheel. I wouldn't hate it half as much if they incorporated the wheel somehow.
One of the most annoying things about its return is their audacity to call it a fan favourite when it is anything but. Twists by and large shouldn't be repeated but if you're going to repeat one don't pick the worst.
They better not drag it way past jury again :bored:

I've gone into why it sucks a bunch of times, but something nobody really talks about is how it kills the pacing of Sunday episodes.

They should just rename it buff man enabling device.

I don't think winning BOB should entitle you safety for the week tbh, they should be allowed to get back doored at the veto ceremony. All players should get 1 chance to save themselves. So yeah it seems pointless
Lostie!
29-06-2015, 04:33 PM
I just don't see the point of it.
I also think the two HoHs / two sets of nominees thing actually drains a lot of tension and momentum, rather than adding it.

Agree with Jack about missing the wheel. I just hate the whole premise of BOTB in general. Why try to fix what's not broken?

29-06-2015, 04:37 PM
Yeah that's another thing, it is pretty much pointless and just adds extra (wasted) time to episodes for no reason at all
I think the real idea behind it is the risk of 'you could go from HoH to being evicted' but did that even happen last year? Totally pointless

And as much as I disagree with Josiah, I am convinced it will now be a permanent extra element of the game, and won't even be billed as a 'twist' from next season onwards

I don't count BOB wins as a comp win tbh. It's just veto and Hoh for me. No one is stealing Janelle's Comp Queen title :nono:

All it succeeds in is encouraging large house alliances to take out everyone else. That's boring and isn't fluid gameplay at all. For a show obsessed with ~big moves~ for some reason (that's another topic tho), BotB actually discourages them. If you're in the big alliance, you just nominate two people outside of it like you would've done, and if you're not in the alliance you have to nominate two weak pawns just to have a chance at staying HoH. Nobody outside the alliance can actually take a hit at the majority successfully, which is why we got the awful season we had last year.
Pete.

and the fact is the bob comp is more easy because you have someone helping you, Victoria comp wins has only been BOB. (and that veto that Caleb handed to her by taking another prize)

Hate it. Its wasted time that could be dedicated to something decent.
Controversial but I kinda want POV removed for the same reason.

It gets big physical & mental threats backdoored very easily and frequently (unless you're on a season with someone like Derrick who can manipulate everyone). No one wants to take the risk of putting big threats on the block before the POV ceremony, so it makes those people sitting ducks early in the game. Backdoor Central. It's actually the opposite of what people are complaining about. It's especially a detriment to physical threats because those are the people who could've otherwise saved themselves but are only considered for backdoors now. We just didn't see it last season because those physical threats aligned together and Derrick ran everything.
I do agree it gives a big alliance a huge advantage but it doesn't give big threats an advantage at all... actually a disadvantage.
People like Austin, Audrey, Jeff, Clay, Davonne will have no fighting chance once the wrong person against them wins HOH. We're seeing it with Jace and we'll see it a lot more I think if there's no master manipulator that may want to keep these bigger threats around this season.

I disagree! All we're seeing with Jace is that if you're obnoxious annoying as hell and isolate yourself, nobody's going to like you and you make yourself an easy target.

You want all of the best contestants to leave straight away?:joker:
The last series was good for letting the villains get so far and even having one of them win it, Donny and Nicole got upset and tried to play the victims just because the other Alliance was better at the game than them, how anyone could cheer their motto on was beyond me.

Last season was god awful seriously one of the most boring imo.
I prefer it when big characters are targeted and not just given a pass to the jury. people were afraid to put people like Frankie so they just went along with what dominant crew wanted until it was too late to ever go against them.

But I a lot of the time the floaters at the beginning of the series end up slowly becoming bigger game players. When there is just one group of strong players who are picking off weak players and not being touched because people are afraid to put them up.

There weren't even any villains last season and Donny and Nicole never tried to play the victim? It was easy for people to root for them because the dominating alliance consisted of bores and awful people and their domination made BB16 the worst season ever.

Cause the "fan" is Allison Grodhog.
I don't hate it, I despise it.
