No, it damages the show as Power Trip and Timebomb are proof of.

At least "Secrets and Lies" was a vague theme and didn't ruin the dynamic of the show much

Exactly this.

Themes are, as the second option says, just a further excuse to mess around with the show. Secrets and Lies was less of an issue in that regard, but mainly because the theme was entirely redundant after the first week anyway. The Secrets and Lies subtitle was completely unnecessary.

And Power Trip and Timebomb were just used to mess with the nomination process in increasingly frustrating ways.

No. It makes the show feel/look tacky. Although I do agree that it should go 'back to basics' I don't think that it should be themed that way, that should be the norm and how we expect all BB's to be

No. As we discussed on Couch Potatoes the other day, Big Brother's theme idea just isn't needed.
