The guests have been knobheads for the whole task, and likewise Jack is being a knobhead by sabotaging the task at this point. If you were gonna just give up, why not do it sooner, rather than leave it til this point and risk invalidating all the work you've already done?

Jack had played a prank with the help of James and Mark that he had eaten a pastry it was that pumped up little **** Joel's reaction to it that pushed Jack eat the pastry for real...good for Jack !!!
