when you don't eat your stomach shrinks - so thats why he found it so hard.

it took him more than an hour to eat 1 pizza that i could polish off in 10 mins. Their stomachs have not shrunk, they have only been on basic rations a couple of times the whole series, and not in the last week

Over 1 hour for 1 medium size pizza. Without meat of any kind. Goodness me.

10-15 minutes or less and it would have been gone for me.
