It's been a sad couple of years for fans of modelling shows with Sky axing both Britain's Next Top Model and The Face, but there's light at the end of the runway - thanks to Lifetime.

The network will revive Britain's Next Top Model for a new ten-part series in 2016, and they've already promised "some of the UK's biggest names in fashion" for the judging line-up.

It is unclear if Dannii Minogue, Elle Macpherson, Tyson Beckford will return to the show

The new series will also incorporate an integrated social media campaign to encourage viewers to get involved with the unfolding action throughout the competition, although this may not impact the elimination process as on America's Next Top Model.

However, it isn't yet clear if the British series will feature male models, as its American counterpart has in recent seasons.

Koulla Anastasi, Director of Programming for Lifetime at A+E Networks UK, said: "Lifetime is delighted to be working with Thumbs Up to bring the brand new revamped series of Britain's Next Top Model to viewers next year, through this exclusive UK deal.

"It is the perfect addition to our non-scripted slate, which includes Dance Mums, a second series of Dance Mums UK, Little Women and Bring It."

The new series will go into production in September, with filming set to take place, as usual, in the UK and overseas.

Meanwhile, Tyra Banks will front the 22nd cycle of America's Next Top Model on The CW from next month.

That's true, although ANTM's casting episodes were mostly brilliant :love:

It just feels like old-school BNTM to me (like cycle 1-2 style), and I never really enjoyed those cycles. I'll keep an eye on this thread though and see what you guys have to say, if it seems to be good I might check some episodes out.

It seems like it was only edited that way because of it basically being an introductory episode as a kind of "Meet The Girls" kind of thing... I've honestly heard so many good things about what this season has to offer so I don't want you to miss out! :laugh:

It kind of is the first season though. Since it's Lifetime's first time running the show, obviously it'll take them a little while to get used to smooth production running etc.

Jasmine got on my nerves so I wasn't too bothered she went. Just glad it wasn't Billie and Alex N as they both have real potential I think in terms of being characters and in delivering good shots. Also really pleased Bethan got best shot :love:

Amreen quitting was kinda sad, she had brought the drama but I'm sort of glad because neither of the others in the bottom 2 deserved to be there, especially Jenna - I Really liked her picture and she was fantastic in the challenge. Not fond of Billie either, she irritated me in the challenge along with Amreen and Alex made such a good point about them being selfish.

AusNTM has consistently been the highest quality and most reputable version in the franchise, it's amazing <3

The makeovers are terrible I think this time. Most of the girls looks worse after their makeover. Angels and Lexis are probably the best as both look better. Georgia's is the worst by far.

I don't really think Alex was ready for modelling as she even admitted herself. It just didn't seem like it was suited to her tbh, I thought she did a much better advert than the likes of Jessica, Megan and Billie though. Billie I really like but she does need to start putting more effort in

Angel, Chloe and Jessica were the stand outs this episode, I really hope Bethan improves next week as she has such a different look and was amazing at the start.

Wow, Billie made an Insta post revealing that she was pregnant but had a miscarriage and lost it. Her due date would have been the day the show (BNTM) started filming. :(

I guess it kinda explains why she was so uninterested/unmotivated during the show and why she often felt angry or defeated.

She deleted the insta post soon after and has deactivated her Twitter altogether :(

Just caught up and i think it's a great final 3.

Originally i wanted Angel to win but now i want Jess to win because i think she's extremely versatile and can pull off alot of looks and she's not the skinniest of girls, which is a plus. If Angel wins it will also be well deserved, even if that TV ad and her performance in the was diabolical (bar that one beautiful shot). I like Jess and Angel so much that my opinion might change by Thursdays episode. Chloe's grown on me too but i had Jess and Angel being 2 of my final 3, loved them both from day 1.

I've seen that season already! Duckie & Shanali :lovedup: They were my top 2 throughout the whole series. There was an even more stunning black girl in the previous series called Neo! She produced probably the best photo in Top Model history

Not a great winner imo, I was surprised she won actually because I thought she was by far the weakest on the runway, it seemed so forced and unnatural whereas I thought Jess and Angel looked so powerful and confident. Only thing I felt let Angel down was heer height in the runway. Also how bad was the production value? it looked like tourists in a resort watching the runway, hope they step it up next series and throw a little more money at special guests and just production in general.

Chloe took some beautiful pictures though and her wedding one was my favourite of the three.
