Stereo Kicks have decided to call it a day after just one single.

In a message to fans on Facebook, the former X Factor contestants said that they have decided to continue their journey as individuals.

Admitting that the music industry was a tough place for unsigned bands, the group said: "Let us start by saying what an AMAZING year it has been for all of us!

"As most of you know, we created Stereo Kicks during X Factor 2014. We all started off as solo artists and were then fortunate enough to be brought together in the bootcamp stages of the show.

"Since then our lives have changed dramatically, and for the better! With your help we have headlined our own tour and seen our single 'Love me So' (written by the band) reach number 12 in the midweek charts!

"We started the process alone and became one. Family is often an overused word, but in the last twelve months we have become one! That is why this next part is hard…

"We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually.

"We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band."

The group said that while they have considered endless ways to make the situation work, it had become impossible to continue as a band.

"Stereo kicks has been, and always will be, a HUGE part of our lives," the post continues. "We still remain the BEST of friends and will continue to support each other in everything we do."

The group's final performance will take place on July 25 at Thorpe Park.

Consisting of Barclay Beales, Chris Leonard, Tom Mann, James Graham, Reece Bibby, Jake Sims, Casey Johnson and Charlie Jones, Stereo Kicks auditioned for X Factor 2014 as individuals, but were later put together by bosses.

Mentored by Louis Walsh, they were the last remaining group on last year's show, making it all the way to the quarter final stage of the competition.

Their first and only single 'Love Me So' debuted at 31 in the UK Singles Chart.

what a shame :fan:

A message to our fans…
Hey Everybody,
Let us start by saying what an AMAZING year it has been for all of us!
As most of you know, we created Stereo Kicks during X Factor 2014. We all started off as solo artists and were then fortunate enough to be brought together in the bootcamp stages of the show. Since then our lives have changed dramatically, and for the better! With your help we have headlined our own tour and seen our single “Love me So” (written by the band) reach number 12 in the midweek charts! We started the process alone and became one. Family is often an overused word, but in the last twelve months we have become one!
That is why this next part is hard…
We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually.
We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band. Please understand that there is nothing more that you could have done and that this is a situation completely beyond both your control and ours. We have considered endless ways of how we might try to make this work, but it is logistically impossible for us to continue as Stereo Kicks. From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful for all of your hard work, support and love. We can't thank you enough.
Stereo kicks has been, and always will be, a HUGE part of our lives. We still remain the BEST of friends and will continue to support each other in everything we do. The experience we have had is truly indescribable and it is mostly down to YOU! Our fans! Without your support and loyalty, we wouldn’t have achieved half of what we have…….. you really have been the BEST FAN’S EVER!!
Although this is really sad for us, we felt that we wanted to end on a high. You guys have been with us every step of the way and have been the first to hear our news, and we wanted to keep it that way!
So, we want to say goodbye as “Stereo Kicks” properly….
Our final performance together will be this Saturday July 25th at Thorpe Park. We would LOVE to see you there. This show is for you!
Thank you all so much for EVERYTHING! We Love you!

So, goodbye – For now ; )

Fleur won't get far either. I'd imagine a top 20 single at best.

It's all about promotion really and I guess Fleur will get the most of it since she was Simon's fave from that year.

Stereo Kicks should've always been a duo made up of James and Barclay.

Fleur I think would be more successful if she was younger.

I think this year is another series 10 tbh.

I am always a little sad to hear these things, the judges, Simon Cowell particularly on X Factor, threw them together and so many of them.
Built them up and then just discarded them.

Maybe they didn't have what it took to be a real success but really despite X Factor it seems they never got the chance either.

Then again, the Winner gets dropped quickly too once getting high in the charts ends with every release, such is the pathetic ways and lack of commitment as to the X Factor unfortunately.
