When does the new series start?

Presenter Emma Willis confirmed during the Big Brother final that the series will return at some point in August but it has since been announced that Celebrity Big Brother will launch live on Channel 5 on Saturday August 22.

Why don't Channel 5 just tell us something for once?

It hasn't been announced anywhere and it'd be too early for a confirmed date anyway.

If it's really that late into August then that's great. We need a break lbr

A 3 week break is plenty, TBH. Any date after 20th August would mean 5/6 week break, which will be way too long, and will drag.

I think the week beginning 3rd August would be fine enough. Presuming, they promote it well, and launch it later in the week. Maybe, 6/7th August?

Just rumors. I think they would be really stupid to launch it on a Saturday, especially in August because:

a) It's the day when TV ratings are lower than usual, as people are usually out.
b) X Factor

Although, they should consider a Sunday Launch, for CBB17 in January, like they did for CBB7. That would be good for ratings.

This past series has dragged. We need a decent break.

3/4 weeks is decent.

5/6 weeks, and people will get bored of waiting. And lets face it, anything longer than 2/3 days after the winner of BB16 is crowned good enough, considering they've launched CBB only days after the final of the BB, over the last 3 years.

Maybe because they are still working it all out

No one would get bored of waiting. They aren't even advertising it yet.

No one cares.
