I'm currently watching Secrets and Lies for the first time, and I can't see any real difference between Emma now and Emma then.

Incidentally, this series is amazing, possibly my favourite of the three C5 BBs I've seen so far.

BB14 Emma was so raw and she was so into the show now she is in her cue card era.

look at the devastating decrease in her fashion sense:

I don't get that impression from Emma, actually. I reckon she's as into it as she ever was (but I wouldn't blame her if her interest seemed to wane during the last couple of summer series).

Weird how an advert with Emma came on TV literally as I was typing this.

tbf she was amazing in bb14 and all the CBB's.

And she wasn't that good in BB15 AND 16 - but who would love presenting those series?

She will be make to how she was in CBB15 for CBB16.

Its just the way it comes across to me, like she lacks sincerity. It may be just because the live shows are rushed and she doesn't have chance to fully express herself but it does seem forced to me when she feigns excitement

i would say the problem with Emma is that previously she was able to appreciate the qualities that a housemate brought to the show whether she liked them or not. In recent series, she has not been able to hide her bias for certain housemates and contempt for those she doesn't like

Someone with that approach cannot be a good presenter. Rylan has a similar bias but is a dreadful presenter, so that combination is much worse.

I don't get that impression from her at all - she's a huge fan of the show just like all of us. Who else would have the guts to say this on one of the live shows?

You can tell they just try to keep her to a script now, I love it when she shows her fan side as that's the Emma we want and love. :flutter:

it is time to axe emma and rylan.

it is time to axe emma and rylan.Emma can stay, Rylan needs to go.

We know Emma can do the job well, it's just producer-meddling giving her less freedom and basically making her say what they want her to now. Replacing her wouldn't achieve anything as they would simply enforce the same restrictions on the replacement.

Rylan is just... bad. The only way he could do the job well is by not appearing in a single frame of footage.

I'm currently watching her in CBB9 BOTS and she's so lively, the main show nowadays castrate her...

Before she got the gig on C5, she was a major BB enthusiast on C4's BBLB discussing BB with genuine passion. She wasn't angling for a job : George Lamb got the gig when Dermot left, however C5 obviously never forgot her passion and gave her the bbbots slot so when they captured the rights.

She was great and improved the main eviction show when Brian 'autocue' Dowding was axed. She was great when she took over for her first 2 series of BB main shows, it lead to This Morning, the Voice, Girlfriends, and that horrendous Prized Apart. She's a household name presenter now. However now she seems bored, extremely irritated by the heavy handed fans on Twitter and it's obvious ahead has outgrown BB, the problem is BB will struggle to get as big and competent a name to present the show. Who would replace her?

bb just needs a presenter to who listens and also one who asks far better more varied questions........her interviews are pitiful

Channel 4 made her George Lamb's co-host in BB11.

If she's sacked next series I have a sneaking suspicion it's because she said that

They won't sack her for that. They had to fork out a butt ton of money to get rid of Dowling so that they could make her the main host - and they also know full well that's one of the only credible aspects of the main show these days.

True, but she was daring to say that live when the entire show is manipulated and scripted, she probably got a smack on the hand at the very least

They will never sack her, she will leave on her own accord. She is bigger than the show and now a big name in demand presenter eg the Voice, Prized Apart, This Morning, Girlfriends etc. Crap shows, but she keeps getting work and building her profile away from being that MTV presenter who married a Busted singer.

The only time she went off script and it slayed

She's off script quite a bit. When I was at the Timewarp launch with Nikki etc entering, we could see the auto cue and Emma's lines, and it was just a basic structure of what to say. Emma makes a lot of it her own and that's a true presenter, someone who can easily make it their own.

As well as that, I don't ever get the impression that she doesn't want to be there or dislikes her job. Emma is a true Big Brother fan and that comes out. Again to refer back to my visit from this summer, while she was interacting with the crowd I had a quick chat about who could be going in and we were mentioning loads of golden oldie Housemates who some of the crowd had never heard of. You can tell she's genuine and very excited throughout the show.

They won't say anything to her about the live feed because (not to bring this into the thread) the live feed is something a lot of staff who work on Big Brother actually want, but it's actually ENDEMOL who say no to it. We don't understand why but there we go. Emma is one of the most credible things about the show at the minute and I think she's keeping parts of it floating,

I thought it was channel 5 who didn't want it?

I read it was Endemol who blocked Channel 5 from getting it in 2013 when Frow took over as the controller.

Ashley.

They're not doing it because it would be the one thing that they couldn't control. With the live feed, they can't hide anything.

Like I said above, it's not Channel 5. I think a lot of people forget that the format and the show are produced by Endemol with Endemol employees. Channel 5 pay the company to broadcast the show, but it's made with people employed by Endemol.
