Jack Tweedy, for instance, has been bitching about Shilpa with his girlfriend Jade, and he has allegedly made a racist remark against Shilpa, calling her “you bloody Paki”.

‘Paki’ is a derogatory term mostly used by the whites in UK and Canada to insult a South Asian.

Although the television channel airing the programme is said to have muted the word with a beep sound, but the movement of Jack’s lips reveal what he said.

Shilpa was reportedly shocked at hearing the comment but she did not respond. Apparently, she deems Jacks remark not worth responding, and very rightly so.

Meanwhile, Shilpa has lent her support to PETA in UK. And the Animal activists in their turn are encouraging voters to back Shilpa to become the show’s next winner.

I too am a Shilpa fan and the happenings of the house have led to people either really liking her, or really disliking her IMO.

If they are referring to the incident when Jack was in bed with Jade, then they need to check their quote. He's hardly likely to have said "you bloody ****" when he was talking to Jade. If he said it he's more likely to say "She's a..." or simply "bloody ****".

I was making a point about the article, it's technically wrong. If he said something racist when talking to Jade, he's not likely to have said "YOU bloody ****" to Jade. The author of the article got the quote wrong and for me, that undermines the whole article, makes me question what else he didn't bother properly researching.

Shilpa is stronger then we think, it annoys me when certain people say she cries for attention, but she didn't let this remark bother her so much, and if she did cry over it so what! There's still a few things that I'm not sure about with all this.

As far as I know, the allegation that he called Shilpa a **** comes from when he was lying in bed with Jade and BB bleeped out something he said which even Jade reprimanded him about. The vid of it can be got from this thread:

The article linked at the start of this thread seems to be referring to the same incident but also a different incident! Confused, yes me too. In the article, the guy states:

"Shilpa was reportedly shocked at hearing the comment but she did not respond. Apparently, she deems Jacks remark not worth responding, and very rightly so." He also say that Jacks comments were "You bloody ****" which again would suggest he actually said it to Shilpa's face.

So either the above article has got it wrong (and they are mistakenly referring to the incident when he and Jade were lyin in bed) or another incidence of Jack calling Shilpa a **** has happened. If that has happened, then I don't think it's been shown on telly cos I haven't seen it mentioned here on the forum and I didn't see it on the show. But the article says that BB showed it but bleeped it.

Plus, if Jack did call Shilpa a **** to her face, then I think it's likely BB would have shown it. There would be a massive deal made of it by the housemates, not the least by Shilpa. But we haven't seen that. And if that had happened, why would BB deny it cos Shilpa is bound to report what happened when she leaves the house and BB would be caught out in their lie.

It's very hard to see his lips, although I can definately say he didn't say "bloody ****" cos his lips don't move enough in my opinion. And I'm still not convinced he said even just **** though, cos his lips just don't seem to move the right way. In fact, I think he says ******, but again, I can't be completely sure.

I could be wrong and he could have said ****. Jade's reaction suggests he said something very wrong, but it could realistically be ******. I'm just not sure enough.

The other thing is though, that BB are denying he said anything racist. They could be lying. But I'd guess that when Ofcom or whatever other official bodies get involved, they have the power to ask for the "unbleeped" version. If he did say a racist term, they will hear it then. So why would BB lie about it? Why lie about it in the first place. I don't think BB has any sympathy for Jack or want to protect him(i think the first eviction was designed to get him out and backfired on BB when Jackiey left)

Finally, about the link that someone put up to an ITV news report. That report doesn't mention the whole alleged **** incident. It mention Shilpa being called a dog and Jackiey calling her the indian but no mention of Jack calling her anything. If it had happened or there was any decent evidence at all, ITV would have included that in their article.

In my opinion, it creates a lot of doubt over whether he said it or not, and before I'm going to brand someone a racist, I need better proof than that. Don't get me wrong, if he said it, he's a nasty little narrowminded ****. And Jackiey's treatment of Shilpa and the whole "the indian" thing was disgraceful and she should have been called on that by Davina or Dermot. But there's just too much doubt around what Jack said and I need something more concrete before I'm willing to brand him a racist.

As i said in another thread, there is no evidence on what he actually said, if you watch the clip he may have said a word beginning with 'P' and we know there are many nasty words beginning with 'P' in our great english language so, saying he definatley said '****' is just silly. It's the same old thing though, people presume the worst!

And furthermore, i also think BB wouldn't lie and risk yet more flack. There surely wouldn't be any point in trying to salvage the reputation of Jack.

I am suggesting that the treatment of some HMs to Shilpa is very very difficult for some to both interpret, understand & quantify.
We all have an opinion... bullying, jealousy, class, ignorance etc etc.
Calling it racism is just an easy way of excusing the behaviour.

Yes, very much so, and has been unpleasant to watch.

Though maybe a more accurate word to describe what is going on is xenophobia... prejudice against foreigners.

Jade, Jack, Danielle and Jo (and Jackiey previously) have picked up on the areas of culture that they are unfamiliar from, and that differ from their own, and used that against Shilpa.

The problems that group has shown are not necessarily to do with race. It's possible that if there was a British Asian person - that was from the same (urban) background and of similar age as them - in the house they would try to get on well with her rather than ostracising her like they have done with Shilpa.

I'm glad someone made this post. No, I wouldn't say he is racist but, neither are Jade, Jo or Danielle, I think this whole issue has been taken way out of proportion mainly cos it is such sore topic.

For example, the chicken incident... everyone came out of it feeling sorry for Shilpa, why , cos she cried... Jade and co. should have beeen the ones to be upset, they purely gave Shilpa advise, but everyone sort of had the attitude that "how could they know what they're doing".. and went along with Shilpa.. and guess what the chicken wasn't cooked properly.

Saying that, I don't necassarily condone the way they are acting, it does seem as though they are ganging up on Shilpa and Danielle is soooo obvisously sucking on Jade's ass crack.

The difference being that Shilpa did use Dirk's name - her accent made it sound like Duck! Jackiey didn't even try and learn Shilpa's name. She just decided to call her "the Indian" instead.

And I agree, Jade's treatment of Shilpa is down to the fact that she's just a moronic, ignorant little cow. As you say Danielle is a sheep. Jade got on like this the first time she was in the house and her treatment and exclusion of Sophie was what put me off her in the first place. She's trying to something very similar with Shilpa but cos Shilpa is of a different skin colour, the issue of racism raises it's head. I think it's more to do with the fact that Jade is just a stupid, spiteful little girl. She was widely hated in BB3 (before the public felt guilty and decided to like her towards the end) and that was nothing to do with race.

(Maybe I worded it incorrectly but I do not think Jermaine is being racist or making racist comments, I was trying to say that things Jade etc may say, may be perceived in a certain way as they are not as tactful with their words as say Jermaine, so they become misunderstood. I personally don't think it's racism really, and have never said it was. IMO the people picking on Shilpa just don't understand her, her culture or the way she's been brought up. But the fact is they don't even seem to WANT to understand, or know - so they're ignorant and pick on her instead.
