SHERRIE HEWSON is the latest Loose Woman star to sign up for Celebrity Big Brother.
The former Coronation Street actress will become the latest in a long line of panellists from the popular daytime TV show to enter the reality house.
Show bosses have signed Sherrie following the success of her co-stars, including 2012 winner Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin, who finished fourth back in 2013.
Nadia Sawalha also proved to be a controversial choice after going head-to-head with Sun columnist Katie Hopkins in the house earlier this year.
Benidorm star Sherrie, who has this year become the hit show’s longest-serving panellist, let slip about her CBB appearance earlier this year.
Four months ago, the divorced mum of one tweeted: “Celeb Big Brother in August!”
An insider told The Sun: “The Loose Women ladies always do really well on Celebrity Big Brother and they’re hoping that Sherrie is no exception.
“Loose Women aren’t afraid to be controversial and stand up for themselves, which always makes for good telly.
“Although Nadia didn’t have as much success as the other two panellists, her feuds with Katie brought in massive audiences.
“Sherrie has been on screens for years and is a TV favourite so she’ll attract both Corrie and Loose Women fans.”
Other stars tipped to join Sherrie — best known for her role as Maureen Webster in Corrie — include model Janice Dickinson, ex-Hollyoaks and Love Island star Paul Danan and X Factor lovebirds Stevi Ritchie and Chloe Jasmine.
Last week, The Sun revealed Danniella Westbrook had been offered £200,000 to appear in the series, which is due to kick off later this summer.
