Our new addition to the family.

Some of you will remember I lost my beloved dog back in February,i still miss him terribly,I just wanted to tell you about the old boy we have rescued today,Prince is a 10 year old liver and white springer Spaniel,we have known him for a while,a month or so ago the guy who owned him was made homeless due to the homeowner dying,the guy who owns Prince does love him very much but was in need of special help lets say,he was taken in by an alcoholic that is well known in town,as the weeks went on Prince went down hill fast,his fur had been cut off,he is practically bald,his back legs aren't so good,the alcoholic was seen kicking him,so I decided to try and rescue Prince,I found out he was homeless again and his owner was offered a special hostel place but could not take the dog,so we have taken Prince and he is such a gentle ,lovely dog,We are taking him to the vets Monday to get him checked out,so it looks like this dog has found us,lol,my other dog has also taken well to him,so even if he only has a few years with us I hope we can give him a happy time.Just wanted to share our good fortune and hopefully get Prince back to full health,this is what he will look like.

What a fantastic thing to do kaz! it would have been so easy to get a pooch from a breeder but you put your heart and soul into rescuing prince :hug: He's so lucky to now be part of your family, I hope he springs back to full health soon and has many many happy years to come xx

..Kaz..:lovedup:...awww he's gorgeous Kaz, it's easy to see what a pretty dog he will be ..well, only in a few short weeks with his diet and grooming, that sparkle will come back...I know he's had a loving owner before but now he has a family, his first family and how happy his life is going to be...fate eh, with your other dog's immediate acceptance and welcoming of him..mind you, they're probably thinking..when mum's fattened him up, I'll have him for dinner/ooops....

10 is the start of his average lifespan,10 to 14 is I understand the average but some get past that to 15 and 16 and beyond as well.

If he is healthy and happy and he will certainly be that with you,he won't want to be going anywhere soon.

The great thing is,his later years will most likely be his happiest now.

:laugh:Teddy's been a pain in the ass tbh,he just wants to 'ride' him:laugh:Zane came running in yesterday saying,"come look at Teddy twerking" :joker: we laughed our heads off,that's one way of putting it I suppose. I hope his fur grows back quickly Kizzy,he's such a mess,luckily most people know us ,so taking him for a walk is not so embarrassing,I'de hate to think people thought he was neglected by us.

Took him to the vets today,he is ok but has got arthritis in his back legs as the vet said he has been 'over walked' he will need pain relief for that at some point,but other than that the vet said, some good food,plenty of rest and TLC,will see him come good,so fingers crossed for the old boy,and thanks again everyone.

I don't have dogs myself Kaz BUT for the past 3 yrs since my sister got two patterdale terriers i have taken them out each morning for 2 to 3 hours a time five days a week. I love those dogs and always look forward to Monday mornings going to get them to take them down the park.
