There's going to be a new series of Prison Break

Prison Break will be coming back to television for at least ten new episodes.

Fox TV, the channel the show aired on in America, announced there will be a sequel that will be set a few years from where it left off.

It ran for four series from 2005 and has recently become one of the most-watched boxsets available on Netflix.

The network hasn't confirmed when production will begin or when it will air.

Fox chairman Dana Walden was quoted as saying: "I would describe it as a bit of a sequel.

"It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show.

"The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back.

"It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience...

"It'll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season."

The first season was the only good one and they should have made it a one season type of deal but instead they just kept dragging everything out. I won't be watching if it gets picked up.

First episode in the new series is shown in the US tonight. 10th April in UK on Fox UK. I don't know if it is going to be on Amazon Prime or any other streaming service, like the other seasons.

Damn. Didn't know this was about to start now. I haven't even finished the original yet as I felt that it fell off abit too much. Season 1 was so great though.

Season 1 was exceptional TV, Season 2 was a decent enough continuation with them on the run. Season 3... they just ran out of ideas, didn't they? They were back in a prison... trying to escape... again... and it didn't get any better from there :umm2:.

Yeah, Season 1 was great. I didn't finish S4 (yet) - when I stopped watching it seemed to have turned into a version of Mission Impossible or The A-Team.

Season one was the best. Lost its way a bit after that, but on season four it was getting really good. Even if it looked like a different show, i liked the cast and the acting was excellent.

It's been years and it's a piss take, they ended the show and he died and that's it as far as I'm concerned. it's cheapening the show to bring him back to life years later so they can cash in on another series
