Follows a young computer programmer (Rami Malek) who suffers from social anxiety disorder and forms connections through hacking. He's recruited by a mysterious anarchist, who calls himself Mr. Robot (Christian Slater).

Mr. Robot has received very positive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a rating of 97% with an average score of 8.1 out of 10 based on 35 reviews. The site's consensus reads: "Mr. Robot is a suspenseful cyber-thriller with timely stories and an intriguing, provocative premise." Merrill Barr of Forbes gave it a very positive review and wrote, "Mr. Robot has one of the best kick-offs to any series in a while" and that "Mr. Robot could be the series that finally, after years of ignorance, puts a deserving network among the likes of HBO, AMC and FX in terms of acclaim."

It is currently 7 episodes into a 10 episode first season and has already been renewed for a second season. Doesn't have a UK air date yet.

My current obsession. I love everything about this show. Glad other people here watches it.

I was apart of a test screening for the pilot a few months before it aired, it blew my mind. I'm happy on how great it's doing.

It's not on netflix and I don't it will, since that network shows are not on it. But it's becoming one of the most pirated shows.

If it's a scene similar to what happened today then I'd guess whoever makes the next fsociety video is getting shot.

Either way, I hope Tyrell makes it through. Amazing character.

Spoilers for those who are not caught up...

He'll be just fine. And he's my favorite character.

SAM ESMAIL: A lot of that kicks into gear next season, but in the finale, as things sort of collide, it’s going to be less about Tyrell and Joanna’s relationship and more about Tyrell and Elliot. Next season is when we see the rise of Joanna in a much more dynamic way.

:fist: at Tyrell not being in this episode. Now everyone is gonna spend a year thinking if Elliot is Tyrell or not. The scene with Elliot and Joanna made me believe so.

White Rose at the end too... what is he playing at? I thought he was trans?!

Season 2 is set up perfectly. I love this show to ****ing bits.

I'm almost up to date, just the finale to watch now, loving this show.

I'll spoiler this just incase anyone new starts watching :
Did you all figure the whole imaginary Christian Slater bit? I did pretty early on but the Darlene being his sister was a complete shock and also that Christian Slater was actually the ghost of his dad and not just some random imaginary guy. After they revealed about darlene being his sister I was thinking they actually look really alike (yes I know they're not related irl but ya know

It was back and forth for me. It was obvious at times but then there's scenes without him and Elliot together that got me thinking he was real. There's a scene in the finale between them in a cafe that's absolutely hilarious. I hope they pull some of that off in the future.

The Darlene confession was a shocker. It explains why she was "comfortable" towards him after the first episode, which is worth a rewatch to pick up on different situations. But I agree with you, they do look a like now.

Same as you. Started thinking a few episodes in he was imaginary but didn't expect him to be his father/Darlene being his sister.

Finale was great, especially the post-credits scene. Looking forward to rewatching the season at some point and picking up on all the hints that must have been dropped early on to the things we discovered later.

Oh, and -finale spoiler-

The conversation between Elliot and Joanna really did seem to be hinting at Tyrell also being Elliot, but I think the whole episode was trying to push us into believing that. I can't see how it would make a lot of sense really, considering Elliot is just a regular worker at All Safe and Tyrell is high up at E-Corp, and they've both had many scenes with other characters in both corporations (Gideon being the main one).

Locke.

And does anyone think that

Shayla is still alive? We only have proof of her death from Elliot's eyes, and there has been very little mention of her since. Plus you'd think that the police would have asked Elliot if he knew anything, even if they didn't know he was her boyfriend he was still her next door neighbour.

At the end of their conversation, Joanna spoke Danish and it translate to, "If you hurt him, I will kill you." but she says "Elliot" at the end. Clearly she knows who he is. Personally I believe she might have something to do with fsociety.

Do you think Tyrell is dead? Missing for 3 days, Elliot "waking" up in his car... last time we see him, Elliot noticed the gun... At thinking it over, I don't believe Ty is another part of Elliot's personalities.

About your Shayla question, I'm positive she's dead and gone. Didn't the following episode after her death jump a couple months? His boss, Angela and I think Darlene mentioned it too.

I don't think he's dead, no. I feel like that would be a huge mistake, so I really hope he isn't anyway. And yeah, Joanna definitely ties into everything in a big way but I have no theories at all on that, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how things go with her in S2.

I remember Angela asking about Shayla but not the others, although you're probably right. I wasn't really into her character all that much so I don't mind much either way. I do hope Vera, the gangster/dealer, shows up again though, he was a good villain

Finale Spoiler

Oh it never even occured to me that Tyrell could be Elliot. I can see now why you may think that but I'm going to be a firm No on that, the main reason being Tyrell strangled that woman and I don't think Elliot would do something like that. I don't believe Shayla is still alive either.

I finished watched the series, after I had given up before during season two. (I felt it was slow, however things fall into place if you keep watching).

In many ways it is a great series, although it is often awfully gloomy and depressing, and doesn't make you feel great. Sometimes it feels quite oppressive watching it.

On Prime, it's such a good series on so many levels. It's not new but it's one of the best series on prime. It's also very accurate in some of the subject areas it explores
