Why do people watch?

By now I think everyone should know exactly how big brother works. There are fun times and sad times and at times things do happen which people don't think is fair. We have seen it all before and certain housemates do get a bad time. Why are people so shocked and outranged? Plus why do people not switch off their tvs and not watch the show since they are up in arms about certain aspects.

If people dislike seeing housemates treated in such way then why so they still watch...surely switching off the tv is the best responce by not supporting the show. Plus with the Shilpa situation why do people want to keep her in...they moan about how badly she is being treated then vote for her to suffer another week of it....it doesn't make sense.

I totally agree.

The arguements and 'bullying' is all part of Big Brother. I moaned about Jodie Marhs get 'bullied' but now I see it as fantastic TV.
Its not serious and the housemates know that.

Shilpas trying to win a game. The point isnt to vote them out if theyre not enjoying it.

Anyway, in response to your point about switching the tv off, I do. I never expected to be in the majority, but BBro fans have to learn to do exactly this, or they will continue to have their intelligence insulted with the type of television they have been getting.

BBro lost me as a viewer for 2 years until they brought in Pete and Shabaz. And even that thing sezer nearly made me switch off before i smashed the tv up in anger.

But in the long term are you not causing Shilpa more upset by keeping her in? You see her in tears night after night...I don't think theres been a day she hasn't been crying and people want to keep her in to suffer even more...you would of thought her real fans would love her even if she walked or they voted her out for her own safety and well being.

But all I can say is, as long as Shilpa feels she needs to stay in the course of this Game, then we WILL support her and nothing can change that.
She is being strong.. she can leave if SHE wants to by herself, nothing stops them.

See this is my point why do you "assume" I like jade?....I do not like Jade, I do not like Danielle. Now I do like H and Jo but I do not see them as part of Jade at all.

Exactly.

By keeping Shilpa in, we are allowing her to show the world what true strength of character is, and like she said herself, she will become a better person for this when its over.

I certainly havent watched as much I would normally do as I'm just not enjoying it this year. If I find the time I'll watch it but I'm often doing something else at the same time so its just on in the background. I think that the viewing figures have pulmeted this year so thats showing that a great deal of fans are turning off their tv's.

With regards to voting to keep shilpa in, I very rarely vote so i cant give you my own example but people must believe she brings something to the show. She can walk at any time so if she was seriously upset about the situation she was in she has a right to say enough is enough and walk. Maybe its the HUGE paycheck just waiting to be cashed at the end thats keeping her there.

Maybe because of all the comments you use like racist, bullying etc...why would you want to see her withdraw more days of that when she could still be out and be a winner in her own right anyway. Would you be happy seeing her treated the same way by Jade and Daneille until the end....if she came out a winner? Winning isn't everything and in this aspect I think anyone who strongly has issues with the racism, bullying etc would want her own asap...for her own good.

I refer back to my latter post, IF shilpa feels her own need to go, she can.
BUT while she is in there, I feel the need to support her as a fan. Wouldn't you do the same for your fave?

But hey, I am talking to someone who Dislike her and justifies Jade and Danielles doing, which in the end will cause them the pain.
