Basically she went missing from some dodgy hotel and she was later found dead in a water tank on the roof. There was a CCTV video of her acting strangely in a lift just before her death. :worry: There's loads of theories on it.

Oh yeah, it's probably because getting in a car is something so everyday for a lot of people. It's always scarier when it's something that you can apply to your real life.

The babysitter and clown statue one is rather horrifying too. D:

Yeah, he had to get them together on a TV show eventually to prove they were indeed alive. :joker:

And exactly! I get that not everyone is vegetarian (and I only became one a couple of years ago so I can't really judge meat eaters), but killing animals just to increase the realistic aspect of a movie is just needless slaughter. :hmph:

OMG:joker:

Yeah, it's completely realistic. What animals were killed?

From wikipedia:

The animals killed onscreen were:

A coatimundi (mistaken as a muskrat in the film), killed with a knife.
A large turtle, decapitated and its limbs, shell, and entrails removed.
A tarantula, killed with a machete.
A snake, killed with a machete.
A squirrel monkey, decapitated with a machete.
A pig, shot in the head with a shotgun at close range.

Omg, and

Although six animal deaths appear onscreen, seven animals were killed for the production, as the scene depicting the monkey's death was shot twice, resulting in the death of two monkeys.

http://listverse.com/2014/07/30/10-bone-chilling-urban-legends/

At some college campuses, it’s apparently a tradition for students who live in dorms to all let loose with a scream at a designated time. According to the stories, it helps the students release stress, especially during finals week. On finals week at UCLA, the tradition was for everybody to scream at midnight to let out all that pent-up frustration. So, just as expected, everyone did their screaming ritual and the campus rang with the caffeine-fueled howls of a horde of exhausted youths. The ritual complete, the campus quieted down and everyone eventually went to bed, only to discover the next morning that one of the screams had been real. A young woman had been raped at precisely midnight, her assault timed to coincide with the noisiest moment of the year. Nobody heard it, because what’s one scream among hundreds? Legend has it that since then, the screaming tradition has been banned from the UCLA campus, and anyone who breaks the rule is punished with expulsion.

Guys watch a movie called 'Amusement' there is a creepy as **** part when this college student takes an over-night babysitting job and as she is putting the kids to bed the house owner calls and asks how the kids are and if the spare room is ok (the room is full of toys and dolls) and the girl tells her the life size clown doll in the rocking chair creeps her out and the woman on the phone is confused and asks what doll and the girl looks up the hall to the doll sitting in the chair in the distance and the woman tells her she doesn't have a life size clown doll and the doll stands up and runs at the babysitter.

It's based on an old Urban Legend, it's probably one of the better done horror movies based on urban legends.

Oh god yeah, that's the one I was referring to earlier. I didn't know it had been used in a movie.

The opening to Urban Legend is still one of my favourite horror movie scenes, based on the "killer in the backseat" one and it's done to really good effect.

I've been curious about trying it for years now but I don't have anyone that would play it with me and you aren't suppose to play them alone :(

Theres a like really weird atmosphere, very odd. You just sit there asking questions, its kind of weird/intimidating.

We asked if there someone, and there was, then who they are etc.

Apparently there was a man who died there." It stopped communicated after".

But its really hard to tell if someone is moving it, it's very scary.

It feels like someones watching all of you.

Yeah that was one of the rules they got with the board (it was off ebay haha) it was ages ago but i think this was with the paper. The three biggest are

• Never use in a house.
• Never leave the board without saying goodbye
• Never joke around be serious or don't bother

The lesser rules were

• Place a siver coin on the board to ward off evil
• Never mention God
• Do not allow the contacted spirit count backwards from 9-1 or recite the alphabet Z-A
• Do not play alone
• Do not insult the contacted spirit even if they insult you
• Always use a planchette NEVER a glass as spirits can sneak inside

Apparently the backward thing can release a spirit, similar to a glass. Another one we were told to be wary of asking the spirit to move an object in the room as 'proof' as it can allow the spirit to cross over.

If you are going to do one also I would read up, there are lots of tips on how to avoid contacting evil spirits and ways of getting rid of them if they refuse to leave your planchette/board

..this would be a great Halloween thread, we must bump this for Halloween this year...

Once there was a nice old lady who had a lovely little dog. One day, the old lady heard on the radio that a crazy murderer had escaped from jail and that she should lock all her doors and windows. So she locked every door and window in the house except one tiny one to let some air in. She thought that a murderer would never get in through there.

So that night she went to bed as usual. She knew everything was okay because when she put down her hand the dog licked it. But later in the night she heard a drip, drip, drip. She put her hand down and the dog licked it and everything was okay, so she went downstairs to check out the tap. But the tap wasn't dripping. So she went to bed again. And everything was okay. She woke up again later in the night, though, so she thought the dripping sound must be coming from the shower. She went into the bathroom, and there was her dog, dead, hanging in the shower, dripping with blood, all its intestines hanging out.

Written on the mirror was: "Humans can lick, too!" And behind her in the mirror, she saw the murderer.

very stylish teenage girl grew tired of spending hours carefully "ratting" (teasing) and spraying her hair to attain an extreme beehive do. She washed her hair in sugar-water, allowing it to harden in the style she wanted. At night, she carefully wrapped a towel around it and slept on a special half-pillow designed not to disturb the hair...so a turban legend, not an urban legend...

One morning she failed to come down for breakfast. Her mother went to her room only to find her dead in bed. When the towel was removed from her head, it was discovered that she had been gnawed to death by rats (or bugs — I've heard both versions).

Actually I do, but it's not "creepy" it's just a myth from my hometown.

There was once a wealthy vicar called Mary, a long time ago, who was wealthy and fortunate in life, and was always looking for love. She found it with her first husband, but rumour had it that the two weren't happy, and the husband was killed in a tragic accident. Willing to find love again, she eventually married her second husband, but again, he died of unknown causes which was then known as a "sad coincidence". However, fingers were pointed when she became a widow for a third and fourth time, and she eventually fled back to her home with her son. Four months later, her son also died, leaving her so heartbroken that she eventually committed suicide just weeks later, and joined her son and her husbands in heaven.

Apparently, the vicar had planned this all along, killing all five in the hopes that she could join them in heaven for the rest of eternity. It didn't take long before people began seeing her ghost in the streets. Legend has it that some divine entity sentenced her to spend eternity doing penance for her evil deeds. She was given the task of travelling each night to a neighbouring village's castle in the company of a huge black dog with blood red eyes and savage fangs. The nightly 30 mile round trip is taken in a carriage made from the bones of her four dead husbands and is driven by a headless driver. On reaching the castle, the vicar would pluck a blade of grass and return to the carriage of bones, after which it rattles back to her village. Once the grisly coach has returned home, the blade of grass is carefully laid on a flat slab of granite. Only after all the grass has been removed from the castle mound will Mary be allowed to rest in peace which judging by the lush covering will be a long time away. If the phantom coach should stop outside any house then an occupant was sure to die as would anyone for who the coach stopped on the road.

Those that have witnessed the ghostly journey say that the first thing you notice is the rattling of the coach of bones as it thunders along the road. As it approaches the night air chills and the sound of thundering hooves grows louder and louder. Suddenly a huge black dog with crimson eyes hurtles down the road, although some folks say it has but one eye in the centre of its forehead. The dog is closely followed by the coach of bones, on each of the four corners is a skull belonging to each of the four husbands. It's headless driver relentlessly lashes the four stallions with a long bloodstained whip, again reports differ as some suggest that along with the driver the horses are headless as well. As the coach passes the ghostly white figure of a lady can be seen sitting in the back. If you're really lucky her head will turn revealing two eyeless sockets sunk deep into a pallid, grimacing face. After the carriage has sped by the stench of rotting flesh is left wafting heavily on the night air. For those daft enough to continue their journey there is a treat in store by way of seeing the coach on its return journey.

On 24 November, five days before the discovery of the woman, a local 26-year-old man was hiking with friends around the same area. He reported to have come across a woman of foreign appearance, her face completely distorted by fear. He noted that the woman was dressed elegantly, although not appropriately for being outdoors, let alone hiking in the hills. As they passed each other she formed her mouth as if to say something but appeared intimidated by two black-coated men who followed her. The men also had a foreign appearance.

Dean Corll, later known as the Candy Man, was a serial killer who abducted, raped, tortured and killed 28 young boys between 1970 and 1973. However, in 2012, 40 years after these gruesome crimes, a mysterious photo of a terrified handcuffed boy was found in one of Corll´s accomplice´s possession. As scary as the photo itself was, things got even more agonizing when it was found out that the boy in the photo was not any of the original 28 kids…

...real life can be much more scary and much more creepy than myth and legend, Cal.....

I've just read that he tied two brothers to a torture board and told them whoever could beat the other to death would live. After days of beating each other he killed them both anyway. </3

I'm shocked I've never heard of him. He seems like one of the most evil of all.

Good threat btw

...yeah I know, Jake....and two of his victims were brothers but not taken and killed at the same time..their deaths were around one year apart...can you imagine their families to have lost one son and then another a year later, in the same brutal way.../horrific...

I've never read anything as sad as all of this.. Again, police not doing enough as well, similar to the Jeffrey Dahmer case

It's basically because these young boys were from rough areas where running away was common and frankly the police didn't really care where they were so long as they were off the streets.

Yeah I know, doesn't excuse their incompetence though

Just read a mother to one of the boys killed by him came SO close to catching him but the police just didn't care about her findings. She even got his reg plate and everything. She refused to accept that her son run away.

Jeffrey Dahmer's stuff was equally as horrific and mind blowing that the police did nothing.. I read that he injected acid into a victims skull/brain. He managed to escape but he had no sense of where he was/wasn't able to communicate/had no idea of what was going on, was pretty much in a dazed state. Some women spotted him, called the police and stopped Jeffrey taking him until the police arrived. Jeffrey lied and told the police that he was his boyfriend and that they'd had a drunken arguement, much to the protest of the women. The police gave the guy back to Jeffrey to take inside and told the women to "mind their own business". Jeffrey later killed him.

Yeah that was one of the parts that had me gasping in shock just reading it, wasn't the guy 14 and bleeding heavily and and two women found him just outside Jeffrey's house and the police believed the guy was 19 and just drunk...it's horrific and you have to lay some blame on the police's behalf imo

Oh wow the cop who handed the boy over to Dahmer was initially fired but he appealed and was reinstated :/

Regina Kay Walters

This photo was taken by serial killer, Robert Ben Rhoades right before he killed the 14-year-old Walters. Rhoades was famous for touring the country in an 18-wheeler truck that was fully equipped with a torture chamber. This photo was taken in an abandoned barn in Illinois where Rhoades murdered Walters. Before killing her, Rhoades cut off her hair and forced her to wear the black dress and heels you see her wearing in the picture
