Big Brother had a tough weekend, with the series average dropping to 3.9 million viewers.
On Friday night, the 8.30pm show attracted 3.4 million viewers, facing tough competition from an explosive episode of Coronation Street, and the semi-final of Soapstar Superstar, which both attracted 10.8 million viewers and 6.1 million viewers respectively.
At 10.30pm 3.2 million viewers returned to see Carole Malone get the boot. It followed Ugly Betty, which was down on its debut of 4.5 million viewers, with just 3.4 million.
On Saturday evening the show attracted 2.8 million viewers, against the final of Soapstar Superstar which was watched by 6.7 million viewers. On Sunday there was little improvement, with 2.9 million viewers tuning in.
