It's whoever is entertaining, it sounds like people would want a big male personality out instead of a boring woman, just so a woman isn't out first, just get rid of the bores (It's VTS so it's likely the big characters will go far anyway)

So you're telling me that 4 male first evictees out of FIFTEEN has nothing to do with gender?
I'm sorry, but gender does have something to do with it. Males are ALWAYS at an advantage. It has little to do with the "character".
If it has nothing to do with gender, then how the hell has a woman gone first EVERY time on civilian BB? For over 15 ****ing years?
It's sexist, but people on here are too afraid to admit it.

The case for the 'curse' is that women are either the only people up for eviction or that they're too controversial and outspeak the boring males (just an observation, but a lot of the females are bigger characters than the males, who tend to be on the boring side)
For the past two years, it's only ever been women up for the first eviction (also BB1, BB2, and BB8), so it was pretty much default that a woman would be evicted first
As I said previously, the only other reason I can think of is the fact that they're too big of characters, which people really don't like (it'd be interesting to see the voting percentages for Dexter, Gina, and Sallie, considering they were all big characters that clashed in that first week)
If we went back to VTS in the Civillian series, then maybe we'd see a boring male go over a big female character. Women like Sallie and Adjoa (I don't understand what she did that warranted boos, besides talking about 'pussy') are far more remembered than the rest of their housemates, meanwhile the men are easily forgot about (and the men that actually do something are evicted asap, e.g. Marc)
I don't understand a lot of the public's choices (Helen winning, for example), but I doubt that the public decide to pick up the phone because someone's a woman.

Can we have a bad housemate out first, regardless of itīs a male or a female?
Jarvio
23-08-2015, 08:38 PM
There have been many male HMs than have been "bigger characters" than many female HMs (and vice-versa). There have also been many male HMs that have been "bigger bores" than many female HMs (and vice-versa). My point is, there is no correlation between gender and HM quality.
Yet, somehow, a woman has gone first nearly every time. In over 15 years. Yes, I stick by what I said - it's sexist.

Well I wouldn't have to be "Sexist" if the voting public weren't on a whole sexist for 15 years. Plus, many women are voted off just for having a vagina.
If the first evictees were more balanced between men and women then I wouldn't have made this thread. But because the vast majority are women, I am not convinced that it is anything but sexism.

What's delusional about noticing that women first evictees get themselves evicted for acting a bit twatty and putting themselves at the forefront of the show. There have been loads of just female vs female first evictions as well. So you are bound to lose them. Plus a lot of the time they've gone up against males who go onto either win or make the final.
But stick with your "oooh women are so hard done by on this show" when in reality the CBB on C5 formula has taken out it's fair share of males in a first eviction.
Who cares for Sally Bercow? Jasmine Lennard was a gob****e (and it was a female eviction anyway), Paula was robbed that we can admit </333 (but so was Andrew Stone so idc) and Chloe was an absolute bellend, so it was warranted.

Then pick up the phone and vote for men if it bothers you so much, the fact of that matter is, in a VTE, the bores (the men, take Danny, Cristian, Ash, Pav, and Winston, who are the most recent bores) survive because big characters (which are mostly female, you can't deny that) stir up a lot of controversy which consequently makes people want to evict them. No one is going to pick up the phone and spend 50p to evict someone based on the sole fact that they're a woman ffs
If it was flipped around and it was that all the first evictees were male, I highly doubt you'd be claiming it's sexist - because it's not. The only thing that's sexist is you.

You're* ok sorry thanks
There's probably a maximum of three men that'll vote a woman out because she has a vagina and like maybe 3 women voting out a woman because they're jealous (???) and one of you voting out a man because he has a penis.
It's a matter of opinion but I really don't see how it's equal. You could make a list of ten big female characters from the past three years alone (Helen, Toya, Ashleigh, Jade, Pauline, Sarah, Harriet, Harry Amelia, Gina, Hazel and more), while the only big male characters in C5 have been Marc, Dexter, Aaron (BB12) and Conor. Marc was evicted in a VTE at the first possible chance and Conor and Aaron avoided eviction because it was a VTS and people vote for the big characters to save
It isn't a coincidence, you're right, because there have been numerous occasions it's been women only up for the first eviction, and the rest of the time the first evictees were terrible. Of course, some were robbed (Adjoa </3) and I'd rather a boring man had gone instead (my hatred for Jack grew when he saved Cristian from the first eviction) but a lot of the first evictees were terrible and looking back it's no surprise they were evicted

There does seem to be a trend of women going first, even when they're big characters and most of the men are boring yet stay for a long time (eg. last 2 years of bb), whether it has something to do with the viewers being sexist I don't know.
There's also an imbalance with shirtlessness criticism I've noticed too, woman gets her boobs out and its "slag!!!!! this girl is a slut! vote her out", yet the guys do it throughout each episode and nobody really says a thing.

Maybe it's just because most of them were/are hated and controversial?
If the roles were reversed and it was a man out first every time, would you really be screaming 'sexism'?
No, because it's not sexist, and the fact a woman has been out first every time is not sexist either.
If you want to vote out a big male character (good luck finding one because nearly all of the men have been bores) and save a boring woman instead (who will contribute nothing) just because they're a man, then go ahead, but don't go preaching about how a show is sexist if you're going to be sexist.

It was Vote to Save, of course Conor would've been saved
Conor did nothing that first week.
