Actually, Ofcom have the power to investigate if they even receive just one complaint, and they have already taken action. According to the newspapers today, they have requested copies of the unedited footage of Jacks alleged racist comment he made in bed with Jade.

I'm looking forward to hearing Ofcom's confirmation that nothing racist was said and equally looking forward to people on this forum apologising for wrongly accusing Jack of calling her a p**i.

And "bullying" happens every year in BB and there are no official investigations about this. Let's not try to kid ourselves that isn't related to the fact that Shilpa has different colour skin than her alleged tormentors.

I've watched plenty and still haven't seen this racial bullying. I've seen girls bitching about another girl, but hey whats new? They don't like Shilpa all that much, to put it down to racism without some concrete proof is simply wrong.

Jade did all this before in BB3 and it was mainly directed towards a white girl. I think she's just a jealous, spiteful little girl, but not a racist. Certainly not on the evidence I'v seen.

Well I'm glad I'm not watching the BB you are, the one where the racists rule the house and pick on the poor indian lady.

Bleedin hell, Jade has previous for picking on people, so it's hardly surprising that she's doing it again. Last time it had nothing to with race and I don't believe i has anything to do with race this time.

Damn, I can't believe I'm actually defending Jade. Along with Nadia and Nikki, she's my most hated housemate of all time. :mad:

My "Goodys racism" was to describe peoples mentality rather than my opinion.

As far as bullying, Shilpa is an intuitive woman and we have all heard her talk about her vibes that she gets, and we all know that she is right about them. Shilpa knows shes being bullied but has no proof. We have the proof because we hear them when theyre on their own.

No face to face audible racist bullying is the only thing saving these pieces of scum from judgement.

jade has just called Shilpa "ching chong wallah" on the live feed, the sound was then cut.

While she may have made up the phrase, I don't know, but "wallah" is an indian servant. A phrase familiar to anyone who has seen an episode of "It ain't half hot mum". So its context could be described as well known

So all these allegations of racial bullying and that Shilpa is being racially abused comes down to one, yes one, comment made by Danielle which consisted of her mocking that Shilpa had a big white beard of bleach on her face and suggesting she wants to be white. This wasn't even said in front of Shilpa, so how it amounts to racial bullying, I don't know. I just don't find her comment to be racist. Like I said before, I need more evidence than that before I brand someone a racist. I haven't seen anything remotely racist from Danielle, dumb yes, obsessed with herself or her teddy, yes but not racist.

Like I said, I'm done now. We'll just agree to disagree. This is just going round in circles.

This isn't just about Shilpa being Bullied and Racial slurs. Its also about others who had to face it in the past. The Bigger this comes and more people speak, the more BB will learn from past experience and future shows to come.
At least this is what you hope.

I think you've got a hidden agenda here. The way you're conducting this petition and regularly updating the figure as though you're on some mission of justice, seems to me that you are intent on condemning these people (as horrible and vile as they may be) based on assumptions and speculation over mocking someone's accent. I’ve never mentioned racism, and it’s not necessarily the racism people are signing against, it’s moreso the fact that Shilpa’s being bullied in general - the girls are being HORRIBLE to her! And she’s still dealing with it respectably! People just don’t understand the Asian culture or even seem to want to, obviously. Why are those who sign it stupid beyond belief, sorry? Shilpa is a huge star in Asia and internationally, she has lots of fans, quite a lot being in Britain. They’re not going to just sit around and watch her get bullied and picked on. People tend to jump to conclusions.
For me, it's just bullying simply because they don't understand Shilpa, the fact she's such a big celeb, her culture, anything. The fact she's foreign is just an additional factor.

Well the opening line of the petition is:

This petition has been created because of the racial discrimination Indian actress Shilpa Shetty is facing within the Celebrity Big Brother House.

And it refers to racism throughout it, so anyone signing because of general bullying has clearly missed the point completely.

Seems to be quite a few repeat signatures and joke names throughout that petition as well.

Obviously IMO they're bullying first and foremost, because they simply don't understand Shilpa.

It's stupid because there is no evidence of any racism.

In fact I actually think this petition is a form of bullying in itself. Its intent is to bully channel 4 into throwing out certain housemates who have no opportunity to reply to the accusations. Of course because they're ignorant and thick hardly helps their cause, but there is thing of principle here.

I don't believe however stupid Jade and co are, that they would would be racist on a programme that is watched 24/7.

I just think it's ludicrous to start claiming that the nastiness directed at Big Brother is racially motivated.

I think there have been a few sneaky comments that could have been misconstrued as mildly racist, but I don't think it was intentional.

I have to say I can see where the three girls are coming from as I find Shilpa highly irritating and she does appear to be very fake (her outrageously exaggerated laugh and the whole "feel sorry for me" thing. I think that the girls just genuinely don't like her and I don't think the question of race has ever come into it. I just think Shilpa is genuinely unlikeable and I find it very hard to watch her without getting exasperated.

My opinions are not racially motivated and I would be disgusted if there were any signs of racism in the house, but I think this is just another case of idiotic members of the British public who need something to complain about, coupled with the media blowing it out of proportion. I think if a white British girl with Shilpa's personality and mannerisms would recieve exactly the same treatment and it would be highly naive to think otherwise.

Just my opinions but I think people are being far too sensitive and too willing to play the race card at the drop of the hat. This is clearly nothing to do with racism.
