I asked Psylocke this question but he seems unwilling to answer probably because he's afraid of guilty of double standards.

Edit: This poll is aimed more at those crying racism. Obviously I don't think either Jade or Shilpa are racist for mocking each other's accent.

Mocking Shilpa's accent isn't racist. Who said that was a racist comment? Therefore, Shilpa's imitation of Jade obviously wasn't racist either. I do stuff like that all the time.

No, it’s moreso bullying, as was ‘She’s a dog.’ But the snide racist comments that HAVE been made are plentiful in my eyes, e.g. ‘Put it in Shilpa’s curry’, ‘They undercook their chicken’, ‘They eat with their hands…dunno where her fingers have been’, ‘That’s why Indian women are so thin, they all get ill’, the stuff with the bleach – just to name a few off the top of my head…:rolleyes:

Theres no point saying it maiden. You could shout it from the roof tops, but every time you quote one of the racist remarks, the people claiming its not racist just miraculously lose theyre ability to acknowledge it.

Theres a mission to play down the racism and its just lies.

I don't believe immitating someone's accent is necessarily racist. I do it every now and again. Unless it's really spiteful, then I don't think it's racist.

It's obviously not a kind thing to do, but who can say that they've never done the same?

However, other comments such as "Wolf-Boy", "Dog", "You don't know where their hands have been" and "That's why Indians are skinny - they're sick from Shilpa's cooking".

That's more edging on racism.

In all honesty, the picking on accent thing is quite funny, and lighthearted. I don't see that as a serious matter, but any other racist comment I DO see as serious and I can't understand people who say 'get over it' or whatever. Shilpa's a huge celeb where she's from, she's gained a lot of fans here - people aren't going to sit there and effing put up with it, sorry!

Shilpa_Fan, I think the accent mocking was when Jade and Jack were going on about whales and they pronounce it 'while' or something, and Shilpa didn't know what they meant. And Jade/Jack were like, 'You don't know what a while is?!' (at which point I had serious doubts about Shilpa's intelligence). However she then went 'Oh, a WHALE?!' and laughed loads, lmao. I found it funny. :laugh:

However I don't think Jade/Jack/Danielle found it quite so funny...

You made valid points about accent in your other thread regarding`These Racist Claims` but I feel that the mimicking of an accent is done in two very different ways,either humourously or offensively. The girls used it humourously on one occasion,but only so as to justify it within their bitching.Personally I feel there is a slight racist undercurrent in the house and can only Imagine how they would be away from the cameras.I agree that nothing has been specifically that racist and I have avoided prejudging this so called Jack comment.The accent is just a part of the bigger picture that leaves me feeling this way. I haven`t signed any petition But I could never think that these viewers were stupid.

yeah because if somebody english was to make fun of a chinese persons accent and the english person got told their racist and then the chinese person does it back to the english person and that isnt classed as racist then that is unfair
i was just putting it as a different scenario because some people are swayed of what they think about that depending on the people themselves

Shiilpa mocked a word or two that she didn't understand, but she did it in their presence. She made the comparision of how she says it and how she hears from them. She didn't bitch like the bitcher group who do it behind her back, because they know its a wrong thing to do and dare not do it in front of her

The girls don't mock words of Shilpa, they mock the entire package that is Shilpa

It's obviously not racist if they are only doing an impression of the accent but it's all down to what they actually say when they are mocking the accent that counts for me.Sometimes I feel that the bitchy girls seem to use it as an excuse to just insult and take the Mick out of the way Shilpa acts and then it just becomes offensive.
