Fair enough she had a reaction to the bee..but the fit didn't look very real.
She needs to wet her pants next time, make it more convincing.

I don't believe for a minute that was a real fit  yes her hand was swollen due to a reaction from the sting but she never even mentioned anything about her throat until the medic brought it up.

You can't accuse her of faking a fit. How horrible.
Lostie!
01-09-2015, 08:27 PM
I don't believe it was fake at all. She was in the middle of an allergic reaction (clearly a serious one since we saw her hand changing colour), I find it hard to believe that she'd then just casually decide to fake a seizure in the midst of that.
You can't accuse her of faking a fit. How horrible.
Yes I can and I did

Of course, bee stings dont produce the chemical that a wasps does.

Yeah it was really horrible and kind of scary to watch.
I don't think she faked the fit. I mean I wouldn't put it past her, but all the signs were there and she was panicking so that probably didn't help her situation.
Loved the way she got to the floor, very controlled.

I have fits but only when I'm having a panic attack... I believed it. I don't think even she would embarrass herself that much for airtime. She likely just then said they could broadcast it, unlike when people have been ill on previous CBBs (boring Sam par example)

I'm no medic...fortunately I don't suffer from epilepsy but I think people should tread carefully on matters they know little about.
Janice was clearly stung...her hand swelled. She may have suffered an attack as a result of the sting or she may have suffered an attack out of sheer panic..whether that was an epileptic fit or a panic attack who knows. If she was deemed fit to return to the house, it obviously wasn't that serious. If Janice is that much of a drama queen to feign an attack then shame on her...but I, maybe naively, refuse to accept she would.
Let's not be judgmental on something we are not equipped to judge and on reactions we are not fully in the know about.
Give her the benefit of the doubt...she was clearly bitten and clearly stressed..an elderly woman in a foreign country. Give her a break...

It looked more like an anaphylactic reaction.
It looked more like an anaphylactic reaction.
Could be a mix of the two.

Looked like a panic attack to me. Doesn't mean she didn't think it was due to the sting (medically I mean) but as Tom said - it was likely a mixture between the two. Tjere's no way it would have been shown if BB were told by the paramedics it was likely fake. Any kind of attack like that is followed with tests (incluging blood pressure - which if she'd been faking would be fairly normal)

Bloods pressure drops with a bee sting reaction.

You don't get seizures when you have a panic attack though
She never had a panic attack anyway regardless of the assumptions on here, the update today clearly said 'Janice has an allergic reaction to a Bee Sting' not Janice has a fit after a bee sting or Janice has a panic attack after a bee sting. An allergic reaction.

There's such thing as non-epileptic seizures and they CAN be triggered by panic attacks..

if she had a genuine seizure triggered by a panic attack (which is two seperate things) I seriously doubt they would have aired it or sent her back into the house so soon

I'm with this 100%. This is not at all like sending someone home to convalesce in peace. This is sending someone back to a high pressure TV show with constant argument and confrontation. It just doesn't add up. Duty of care would ensure she wasn't sent back to that environment
hannah.

Bloods pressure drops with a bee sting reaction.
And rapid drops in BP lead to seizures. That was my point.

This is C5, remember. The only time they censor anything is when it's going to look bad on them, like the Hazel/Daley thing.
I'm not and have never said that Janice didn't give them the green light to show it for attention (I think she did) but I do believe that it was a real reaction

its not just channel 5 though is it, it is the paramedic that treated her, its a hospital that treated her, and its a British public audience watching.

The paramedic who treated her would have agreed to be filmed before hand and did nothing wrong. The hospital was outside of our knowledge. I don't get your point
hannah.
01-09-2015, 11:13 PM
Oh, just read upwards and saw what I'd quoted.
In C4 days she'd have been sent home to recoup. The hospital would have released her (or she could have discharged herself) they can suggest but not tell her what to do. C5 clearly don't vet housemates for issues anymore so why would they or any of their production team tell someone to stay home when it could make SHOCKING TV WHICH WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAAAAAAAIN?

Hi, I do :)
Ok, I still don't believe Janice did though, someone very close to me suffers with panic attacks and the last thing that would happen if they got an attack that bad that they actually had a seizure would be going back into that house. I don't believe her or C5. Imo it was all dramatics to try and make the show exciting

She was in too much control for it to have been a fit ,and she was talking just fine ,in fact she was talking in a rabid way until security chap asked her if her throat was tight

Not really Hannah. Janice is probably one of the most dramatic and over the top Reality stars that's been on any of these shows. Everything is theatrics with her. Is it really that hard to believe that she may have put on a bit of a show for camera time? And is it really that surprising that alot of people doubt her because of what she's like? I don't even dislike Janice that much but I see her for what she is, a lime light loving diva. Me doubting her isn't a personal attack on you or anyone who suffers from panic attacks btw and also you are just guessing too that that's what that was or was supposed to be because no one from C5 actually came out and said "Janice had a panic attack" So, in fact, like me, you are also being a "psuedo doctor" here

Its very coincidental that she receives a final warning and then the next day shes having a fit on the diary room floor and getting a ton of sympathy.
C'mon people get real that fit was faked. Yes her hand had swollen and I do believe she was suffering some form of panic attack but the fit wasn't convincing she stooped to her front then landed on her back arms and legs fully spread out seems she would have slumped head first to the floor and in a much less demure position.
I don't think BB would have aired it either if they thought it was real.
Horrible thing to accuse someone of I know but this is Janice Dickinson we are talking about.

No way was that a real fit. People having fits lose total control, the way she slid off the chair said it all, her knees touched the floor first. When a person has a real fit it is scary to watch AND GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT WILL HIT THE FLOOR FIRST. This was NOTHING like a true seizure. Many people do "fake" siezures it is fairly common in hospitals and there are ways to detect this. Even though I was not there in person, from what I have seen this very much appears to be one of the fake ones. Just saying.

I have epilepsy and I have fits and I've had cuts on my head from where I've fell down and hit my head, yet to me it seemed genuine. Usually I can sense when I'm having one, and when I do I'm recommended to get down on the floor (which I guess is what she could have been doing) but I'm usually too panicked trying to find someone to tell that I forget and collapse.
How do you detect if it's fake? The paramedic said she was fitting, I think he's more qualified to determine if someone is fitting than me.

The paramedic said she was fitting, I think he's more qualified to determine if someone is fitting than me.you would have to be there in person, and do various response tests. Also there is NO WAY the hospital would release a 60 year old who has just suffered a fit, that early absolutely NO WAY. I THINK that in itself justifies her episode was faked.
