View Full Version : Janice Dickinson Do you think they should have aired Janice's fit?

I'm glad we got to see why she went to hospital, but I don't know if they should have aired her fit. It was actually quite hard to watch.

Not really. For some reason it was fodder for some people to call her fake as well so

I don't think that they should have aired the fit - they could have just shown what happened before and let Emma explain the rest of the situation.
Don't think it was necessary really but it's the sort of thing where they'll be damned if they do, damned if they don't

They no doubt asked her permission to air it, let's face it, the effort she put into that performance no way would she want it shelving:laugh::laugh:
They aired it because it was a fake fit, there's no chance she wouldn't have been kept in overnight for observations if that was a true case of anaphylactic shock.

It's a weird one. In an odd way, it was refreshing to see them air something that we aren't 'supposed to see', like the old days on C4.
Obviously the content was pretty horrible, but that's what BB is- a 24/7 reality show where anything could happen.

It clearly wasn't fake :umm2:
Being someone who has seen one of my best friends have epileptic fits about seven times it was actually shockingly similar

Yes, but with a warning that it might have been distressing for some viewers (I turned it on a couple of minutes late so no idea if they did or not).

Are you a doctor?
My father is an epileptic I don't get your point?
Bee stings cause anaphylactic shock not epileptic fits.

No -but as she didn't have a seizure then I don't see a problem with it. I'm sure the allergic reaction was real and quite scary but that 'fit' wasn't completely genuine.

True.

I thought the only thing you were supposed to do if someone is fitting is to leave them to it and make sure they don't come to any harm whilst their fitting?
I didn't personally have an issue with the them airing it - purely for the aspect of it was good to see what they do should a situation like that occur.

She had told him she had trouble breathing (never mentioned that until he asked her funnily enough) he would have at the very least made sure she wasn't swallowing her tongue.

thats the facts, she may have become light headed from it, but that won't make her fit.

I can say it was fake because I think it was blatantly fake, it looked fake, the medic stood there watching as though it was fake and he called for assistance as 'Janice appears to be having a fit' which made me think that he also thought it was fake.
I can't be bothered going on so I will finish with.....

Not necessarily.
And she was still convulsing when on the floor, I certainly didn't see her suddenly go still.

I have no medical background but it looked fake to me , she "fell" off the DR chair in a very controlled way .I also believe they would have to have had Janice's permission to air such a private moment .
Watching it here I still say it was an act

I think there are better things to pick up on for camera time/fairness during a CBB than faking a fit. Surely she can't win

There is no way they would have shown it without her permission.

Janice got stung by a bee and that caused her hands to swell up quite badly. She received medical attention in the DR but the swelling grew quite quickly and she fell off the DR chair and had what looked like a epileptic fit and was taken to hospital.

I'm not invested enough to argue either way but it's kind of laughable people claim it's fake or real based on now their family member or friend or even dog reacted to a fit. Everyone reacts differently.
Her hand clearly changed colour and part of her reaction could have been panic or shock at how fast her body changed and frankly if her hand can balloon and go bright red in mere minutes how is it impossible her tongue swelled too or her throat. No idea if it was fake but I am just glad she was ok when back from hospital.

I thought she was just milking the attention at firsrt but having seen the whole clip and then looking back at the beginning i think she was genuinely trying not to panick too badly.
I'm not a massive Janice fan and i see right through her usual BS and Drama but I'm pretty certain that the fit itself was 100% genuine!
I know quite a few people with Epilepsy and i've seen a few Anaphylactic type allergic reactions and it convinced me for sure.
I was quite shocked by seeing her have the fit so suddenly like that but i was waaaaaaaay more shocked and stunned by the fact that they actually showed it like they did!!!! It's the kind of in-house BB event that we're generally shown just the aftermath of........"it's 3.45pm in the Big Brother house and Gail is fussing around Janice.......".
I'm betting they ran it by Janice and asked her permission before deciding whether it would be aired. They no doubt would have told her that UK BB viewers love that kinda' thing and that it would get her loads of attention.

No, I actually felt quite disturbed because she's got really old since I'm a celeb. I felt bad for her, I actually felt like turning the tv off, it's good we got to see why she left, but still. It wasn't nice.
And @ the people saying it was fake, get some taste, she's 60. But I cba to argue either way, her hand had changed colour and I think it was real.

I agree i also thought it was fake as did my whole family, she was asked if she was struggling breathing to which she replied yes, but then carried on talking in whole sentences without taking a breath! If you're struggling breathing, then you'll also struggle to talk, and if you were to have a fit you'd black out and have one right there in the chair, whereas she gently and in a controlled manner rolled off the chair onto the floor and turned onto her back, i must admit i watched it a few times! It was like a Gillian McKeith moment:laugh:

I honestly don't know if it was fake or not but you can fit after a bee sting if you throat and tongue swell and stop the brain receiving oxygen.

I liked that it was shown to be honest. Fake or not it felt right for it to be shown, it was quite 'raw', a bit what like what Big Brother should be, showing a true image, straight to the point and blunt. None of this dressing things with with a tiara kind of thing.
I don't really care whether it was fake or not but they wouldn't have aired it without Janice's permission I'd assume anyway, as it's quite a sensitive thing.

True.
True and also anyone who's had a seizure knows you're not "fine" for hours after, certainly not enough to re-enter a game show. Also if she wasn't malingering Drs would not release her and there's not a chance in 1 million years Channel 5's insurers would cover them. Janice wouldn't have carefully lowered herself onto the floor to have a fit and nobody would want something like that screened if it was real and Channel 5s legal team would have told them not to screen because a total narcissist like Janice will try to sue them as she'll do A N Y T H I N G to remain in British news.
On a side note the only thing that would cause a hand to change colour that quickly would be if she was using something to cut off blood supply.
If it was necrosis like she was trying to imply it would be heavily dressed as it would be deeply infected, leaking puss everywhere forcing dressing to be changed multiple times per day and shed be on the strongest anti biotic's administered by most direct route (I.V) minimum of twice a day in diary room.
There's many more reason as to why she was faking but I think I've posted more than enough to prove she was lying......

Her hand changed colour cause she had and elastic band round her wrist. there's nothing else not even an allergic reaction that would cause hand to change colour so quickly. Try it yourself then you too cab have a hand like Janice lol
