I have to say I'm loving it. Drama every day without exception, interesting characters and relationships and very little interference so far. Keep it up channel 5 :clap1:

I think the BB team are good at what they do in respect of almost every first night I find myself self thinking what a boring bunch of HMs yet end up becoming interested.

I just hope that they let things play out with less interference and give all a fair edit and air time.

It's been amazing and much better than any other Summer CBB so far.

I hope we get a bore out first so we keep all the big characters <3

It's alright but the constant arguing/drama never keeps me entertained for long, I need a mix of things happening to keep me interested.

Very much, I like how they've added more Americans. I don't know if this show would be as good if it didn't have a few Americans in to keep the drama coming

Yes, it's been great so far. Extended live coverage, twist-free nominations and no outside contact/forced drama has made it far more enjoyable than Timebomb.

Much better than last years awful summer CBB.

I think this is the best start to any C5 CBB, CBB15 is overrated imo and CBB13's first week wasn't that amazing.

This is also better than CBB14's overrated first week (the only good thing was the Frenchy vs Leslie episode).

Jason.

As do I, but I find that usually January CBB (CBB9, 13, 15) have been far better produced than the ones that air in the summer and the casts are better too. I've also enjoyed all the summer CBB's bar 8, but they've not been good enough on a classic level or worthy of being in my Top 5. Like, as much as I'm enjoying this series, it's still not my favourite summer CBB. I preferred CBB10, TBH.

Nothing happened in the first week of CBB14 bar that Frenchy and Leslie

I actually enjoyed BB15 till about Week 4. It was after Week 6 it became unwatchable garbage and really dull.

The Ashleigh vs Jale eviction (When Ashleigh was saved <333) was the last good moment of BB15 imo, week 6 was watchable but once Danielle was evicted it went really downhill to the point where I actually wanted it to end.

Jason.
03-09-2015, 04:06 PM
I genuinely think it turned **** when Toya left, only Ashleigh and Danielle bitching in the sky room was any entertainment for me.

Yeah around that time. Like Week 4/5 were watchable. But then like Armageddon ruined it and from then on it just became even more manipulated to the point where it was a farce. Like evictions without public votes, Ashleigh being up after being told she would be safe, etc.

Jason.
03-09-2015, 04:08 PM
Whilst on the subject of BB15 - that series was never going to be good, TBH. I mean I remember before the series launched it was revealed that housemates would have contact with the outside world and on social media to link with the Power theme and from then on I knew it wasn't going to be as good as BB14.

EspeonBB

Hmm yeah the Armageddon week and Danielle's unfair eviction really ruined the series. Ashleigh was the only HM left who I enjoyed and she can only do so much.

I enjoyed the Leslie/Frenchy drama alone way more than any BB15 moment tbh (apart from maybe the Danielle/Helen week 1 argument)

Daniel.
03-09-2015, 04:09 PM
BB14 had just as much outside contact.

BB13 is the only solid regular series C5 has done. BB14 was enjoyable, but it makes me laugh when people say it was like the C4 seasons. Couldn't be more unlike them

Pretty much, and not even Armegeddon but Week 7-10 were really dull anyway. At that point I was just bored of the series and didn't really care what happened. I wish I quit BB15 halfway through, TBH. Having said that, BB15 was way better than Timebomb. I mean like watch the BB15 Final and the BB16 Final and see how different it feels and not in a good way.

When I said BB14, I meant as in it wasn't going to be as successful as the Secrets and Lies theme.

And I think out of the C5 series, BB13 and BB14 are the only series I'd say are very C4-ish.

BB13 because of the natural drama and less meddling from production. And BB14, because of the hype it had. Like, new hosts and presenters, extended live feed, changes to the format, etc. Things like that.

Infact, I say BB13 was a C5 version of BB6 and BB14 was a C5 version of BB7 (with all the twists and manipulation as BB7 was also twisted). I'd also say BB15 was a C5 version of BB8 (Numerous twists to replicate the success of BB14 (same way BB8 had twists to replicate the success of BB7) if that makes sense)

Daniel.

I didn't same it was in the same league. I said it's C5's equivalent to it. And I think it is.

I don't think BB13 (or any C5 series for that matter) is in the same league as BB6 (or any golden era series) but BB14 reminded a bit of BB7. And BB13 reminded me of BB6.

Jason.
03-09-2015, 04:25 PM
Anyway...

Thinking about it, I think BB16 is more of a C5 equivalent to BB8. BB16 had so many pointless twists (like actual twists) as did BB8 to try to bring in ratings. Also BB16 declined in ratings as did BB8.

Daniel.
03-09-2015, 04:26 PM
BB8 had Charley Uchea. The whole cast of BB16 wasn't as good as her fashionable clothes

The Safe House reminded me of The House Next Door. And Gina sorta reminded me of Aisleyne (not that they're similar in personality, but like the way they were really popular and I think the 3rd place thing too.

Eh? BB7 was like the bitchiest house, well it was at the time anyway. And like you said Shahbaz's treatment was nasty...which took place in the BB7 house (quelle surprise) so it was quite a nasty house. And yes, Sam and Aisleyne's treatment was also nasty.

It got better after Grace and Lisa left, but the first 5 weeks were quite malicious.

Does anyone else think BB16 is somewhat similar to BB8 in a sort of way? And I mean BB8 as the whole series, not just excusing it because it has Charley in it.

Like both had:

Abysmal production
Constant twists to increase ratings which hindered more than helped. BB8 had Halfway House, All Female Launch, and £100k Giveaway and BB16 had #4IN4OUT
Decent female casts, AWFUL male casts
Decline in ratings
Manipulation/Meddling.

I mean ofc like we're comparing an awful C5 series to an okay C4 series. C5 is trash, but in terms of production and things like that. The similarities between then two are apparent.

Weren't you guys comparing C4 series to C5 series? Hence why I didn't compare 9 to 5, 6 or 7.

And yes, the BB9 divide reminds me much more of 13's than 15's. Even down to the ending, unlike BB15 where one of the bullies won. Then there's the fact that 13 felt much more like an organic, naturally-flowing series so is, again, much more easily comparable to a C4 series without nomination twists every week than 15 is.

And we're going to have to forever agree to disagree about BB9, I found it very much entertaining. You also mentioned a "nasty atmosphere" in your other post, I think BB7 has BB9 beat for nastiness easily. :)

Daniel.

I don't know he was really annoying and fake with Mark and seemed to try way too hard. Maybe not nice wasn't the right term, but he was insincere imo.

Ashleigh was nice imo, she bitched, but she never ever intimidated or bullied anyone. I don't think bitching should be considered a factor as to making a nasty housemates, unless it's particularly spitefu.

give BB77 a chance

I pray and I hope that the show would be axed way before it ever reaches its seventy-seventh installment.

Speaking of seventy-seventh installments, we'll be on CBB77 in like two years anyway.

Christopher would have been the worst option of the finalists :yuk:

Worse than Ash?

Although, yeah Mark and Christopher showmance did annoy me, TBH as Christopher did change his behaviour after that awful Focus Group task. But I blame the production BECAUSE NO ****ING CONTACT WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD!! :fist:

I much prefer it to the Perez and Katie Hopkins trial that was the last CBB

I think the BB team are good at what they do in respect of almost every first night I find myself self thinking what a boring bunch of HMs yet end up becoming interested.

I just hope that they let things play out with less interference and give all a fair edit and air time.

I agree 100%. Really was disappointed on launch night with the celebrities but a week in and I'm really enjoying this series.
