What. Same reason they let smokers in.
Last civilian series alone there was nicotine addicts, an alcohol addict and a gambling addict.

She obviously has a few issues though I find alcoholism hard to believe.

Because she's a recovering alcoholic... If they didn't let recovering drug addicts / alcoholics in the house we wouldn't have had a lot of housemates we've had

I can't believe some people think she would lie about that.

Well she obviously is…or she lied in the past...
She has previously said: 'I'm teetotal. I found out I'm allergic to alcohol about four years ago. If someone cooks with red wine I black out.'
This is clearly untrue as she's been next to people drinking during CBB.
So perhaps instead of playing into her cleverly manipulative 'I'm the victim game' and remonstrating those who critique her we should be asking ourselves whether we can believe, not that some people believe her to lie, but that she would use alcoholism as an excuse for her poor behaviour. It makes a mockery of those who do have real issues and are dealing with them and have been brave enough to admit them on the show…or outside of it.
Not so 'classy' now...

because that would imply that C5 actually cares about the well-being of their HMs? alol how many alcoholics and drug addicts were in the winter show alone?

Jeremy from the January series was clearly on everything you can be on and they just threw him in.

There are tons of cases of housemates being let in who have been recovering addicts. Some have even relapsed in the show (Jeremy Jackson) or after the show (Kerry Katona, Alexander O'Neal)

I think Chloe jasmine could have come outside to support austin and be part of the house during the toast. she didn't have to stay for all the drinking and merriment, it was definitely rude of her to use her addiction as an excuse to stay inside. janice is also an addict and she was out there right? also she seems fine with her fiancé drinking around her.
that being said, Austin is still a loud mouthed queen and he jumped on the opportunity to abuse someone. He loves to have an excuse to abuse people.

I agree. Chloe should have apologized to Austin and explained that she was having a really bad day and needed to stay away before she went to bed, and hopefully he would have understood...but Austin's reaction was OTT and I do believe he was just looking for an excuse to have a go at Chloe.
