View Full Version : James Hill Was he playing a game or being sincere?

When saving Janice instead of Bobby knowing that Stevi & Chloe would have done so anyway?
Definitely a game move. Itīs sad that he cannot admit it at least.

They are ALL playing massive games. Jenna and Austin didn't even wait for Farrah's body to get cold before having a massive game/strategy discussion and pointing fingers at James.
I'll takes Jame's game playing over theirs. Jenna and Austin are upset because they wanted James to pick Jenna so that Austin could pick Farrah and keep the Americans in. Good for James for not doing it. Why are they demanding that he should have allegiance with the Americans...so selfish.

I don't like James, but if he did save Janice just to doom Farrah then that's one of the best gameplaying moves of the season, and definitely James's best moment.

He could have saved Bobby if he wanted to be patriotic. He still saved an American over a Brit.
Janice isnīt a Brit, she is an American.

Jenna didn't even take a breath after eviction before she started to turn Austin into her new bitch and cause a rift between him and James.

True but they wanted Jenna and Farrah to stay. If James had picked Jenna (which is what they were suggesting to him) then Chlovie would have picked Janice and Austin would have picked Farrah and Bobby would have gone home.
The Brits would have lost one of their own. James is not obligated to save the Americans. Much respect to James. He played his own strategy NOT theirs. Good for him!!!!!
I know James already has the win in the bag but based on the current live feed, they may as well end the series now
he can pick who the **** he wants ..i think he finds bobby irritating anyway.
james is a serial people pleaser. He tells people what they want to hear (in this case he is talking to the tv audience). Its all a big act, there is not an ounce of sincerity in him

James never had any intention of saving Farrah. I donīt think even Austin and Jenna expected that.
He should have saved Bobby and there wouldnīt have been a problem. The fact that he saved Janice is an odd thing and doesnīt make sense.

Sorry I misquoted. I meant to say that they wanted James to pick Jenna (I fixed my post now)....they would have had the same conversation with James if he had picked Bobby. They were accusing him of not being loyal to Jenna...which is ridiculous.

Agree to disagree, but i donīt think this conversation (at least not to that level) would have been had, if James had saved Bobby instead of Janice.

Jenna just admitted it on the live feeds. She expected James to pick her.
She would have been upset if he picked Bobby as well.

Fair enough on that part. I admit i was wrong on that part.
But still he should have picked Bobby over Janice. Picking Janice just made him really suspicious and i wouldnīt blame for people doubting him.

And yet some of the same posters saying 'its a game tactics are fine' were the same people having a go at Gail last week for emotionally manipulating
I don't see how it matters whether James picked Janice or Bobby. He knew Clovie would pick Janice if he didn't, and Bobby if he did. And he was never going to save Jenna anyway. I don't think it was game play because Jenna is unlikely to reach the finals over Bobby and Janice and isn't the point of gameplay to get rid of the competition? :conf:

Aye.
I really don't think Gail was trying to manipulate it with her tears, her tears are genuine, she cried tonight when things got a bit heated.
She really does seem to be genuinely sensitive to me.
I don't mind game players as long as it doesn't mean they are nasty to others just to win.

it was obviously a game move, plus. i'm sure james is using austin for his game plan. james doesn't come across sincere in everything he does. everything is so calculated. james is a savvy social game player, master tactics.
Interesting thread because I was surprised by his choice and the reason. It never entered my mind that it could have been tactical yet reading some of the above posts I can now see that this might have been so.
I was also surprised by the public vote as I did not expect K&C or Austin to rank amongst the top 4. I do feel the right one went. Interesting post eviction interview with Emma who normally stays neutral but to my eyes gave Farrah a pasting or attempted to.

I thought it was a game play as well...but after watching the show, it looks like he was disturbed by the way the U.S. team were isolating her and treating her with disrespect and he decided to use his pick to show his support for her.
As he said, he knew Bobby and Jenna were safe, so his choice was to prove a point to Austen and the U.S. team and to show Janice that she has support.

Where is any game playing rule written? It's my opinion.
Game players let us in on the game playing. Victor was the best at it and used the diary room to let us know. Marc was similar. Letting us in on his motives for his actions. Aaron and Dexter were a milder version.

I was just coming in to say the same thing....It was obvious James was fuming at the way Austin was being very rude to Janice during the 'end of the world' task in particular. I thought 'That's really why he saved Janice!' I would have done the same thing and not admitted it because of the bullying I would get from Austin and the endless interrogation from Jenna. The 2 of them are like dogs with a bone - they can't let anything go without first chewing it to shreds.

The difference is James doesn't own it and he's not a 'fun' gameplayer, he's playing it well, but it's boring to watch. All of the above you listed had an element of fun and cheekiness about them. James is just playing the 'good, fair' guy role.

I don't think he has practised what he preaches. In a convo with Bobby to Stevie he was saying that Chloe should fend for herself and this experience would make her stronger.
Now she needs Janice' support?
He's not game playing. He's vote grabbing. In the most smarmy, insincere way.
The important conversation about all this was james and natalie where james told her it was to get farrah out.
Which makes sense cause if he had picked jenna, farrah and bobby would have been the last 2, leaving austin to chose between them...austin would have evicted bobby...uk v usa remember.

James explained himself patiently over and over but she droned on and he had Austin chirping in on his other side as well. No you're absolutely correct. It could also apply as to whether Chloe is fake, her relationship with Stevi is fake etc etc. At the end of the day people believe what they want to believe the majority of the time.
I have my reasons for believing that James is all about impressing the public though. He was very different on The Apprentice and had no clue how to be calm and collected or walk away from any type of argument. He's been playing the 'good guy' role since the start and is keeping his act up well. This just adds to his gameplay.

I can see your point. As I have never seen him on the apprentice, I don't have that bias.
However, after reading the spoilers for tonight. I think Jame's 'shadiness' is becoming clear. I don't think James ever saw Austin as a good friend...at least not in the same way that Austin took it (or we took it, for that matter)...and when Austin was attempting to make more of their relationship, James needed to nip it in the bud, and that's why he told him that they didn't really know each other.
I suspect, now, that James made the best of being stuck in the house and had fun with Austin, when he could...but he really hates Austin's 'bitchy' side....and if they were not in the house, he would have dropped him the first time he saw Austin go 'off' on someone.
