I know my neighbours very well and we all have a mutual friendship and genuine respect for each other. They will do literally anything for me if I 'holler', and I return the compliment.
We inform each other if we are going away for any length of time and watch each other's properties.
Yet - despite this friendliness - they never 'pry' and I could not ask for better neighbours.
Do you know and like your neighbours?

Yes, similar situation to you Kirk.
Always been lucky with neighbours to be honest, live in a friendly neck of the woods I suppose.
Loads of coffee and cake are shared as well.

One of my neighbours family is lovely a father, mother, daughter and two sons and you couldn't meet anyone friendlier they're always okay to take me in for a couple of hours if I get locked out or something when I get in from school.
My other neighbours a bit weird but he's no harm I guess

I wouldn't say I know them per se, but I do get along with them. We say hello everytime we see eachother and things like that.

I don't have any neighbours. My nearest neighbours are my parents and they're a good walk away. So I can have my music as loud as I want, As arista would say... bliss.

Don't really know them that well tbh. The sons who are like at least 20 never leave the house and are always banging on the walls and getting angry. Scary stuff

Yes I cut the grass for my elderly Chinese neighbours on one side and there is an Asian family on the other side who are lovely as well.. The houses are detached so we don't hear any banging :smug:
I live in between a mum who hates her kids and a gay guy who loves his plants

 Can't you get them together and coax them into agreeing a swap? The gay guy can love the poor kids and the bitch of a mother can let the plants die through abuse and neglect.

One of them is a complete and utter asshole, one of those people who's always causing trouble, if you're doing any work on your house he'll be onto the planning department hoping to get you in trouble etc. the rest I know and are very nice but I wouldn't really "pop in for a cuppa with any of them" I like my own space when it comes to my home

Not really. The man on the left is barely ever in and when he is he always keeps the blinds and the windows closed and never answers the door or anything. And on the right is an old woman who we barely ever see either.

Speaking of neighbours, a year ago I had these really annoying Romanian neighbours. There was like 8 of them living in one flat and I remember on New Year 2014 and 2015 they had a massive party and the whole building could hear the loud music and them getting drunk. This year was even worse as they were up till like 10 in the morning and we woke up still hearing the music and last year there was a fight and they knocked on our door at 1am asking what the number for the police was so they could call the police. They would also leave cigarette butts outside their door and ours. They were just awful. They moved away in March though.

I am not friends with any of my neighbours as my Portuguese is not conversational yet but we do say good morning or whatever in passing or if I bump into them at the supermarket, I live in an apartment district so I have lots of neighbours.
We used to know our immediate neighbours well but they were replaced by phantoms a few years ago. Our neighbours now never leave the house or get involved with anyone or anything going on locally. The rest of the houses on our street we get along well with though and have some close family friends amongst them

A true nightmare scenario - you certainly have more patience and tolerance than I have.

It was, we complained a few times as well. They were just messy and dirty people to live with by the looks of it. At least I know New Year 2016 will be peaceful

Yeah, we live in this tiny little gated community and a few months ago someone tried to break into our house in the middle of the night and it sort of pulled everyone together and keep an eye out for one another (gay ik) then the other day the woman who lives opposite OD'd in the middle of the night so everyone was up waiting with her for an ambulance

yeah we live in a private road, haven't got gates though, but we're certainly all thinking about it after some weird people coming down.
Some people came down and had a picnic lol
We have like meetings and everyone comes round to our house and theres like debates on if we should get the road done, maintaining other stuff as well.
The other week quite a few of us cut all the bushes and this little woodland area, we back onto a river.
We have to do everything ourselves, because the road isn't owned by the council.
It's really nice, it feels like a small community, theres only 10 houses.
everyone is really nice tbh

Nope because I like to be naked at home and I don't need them feeling comfortable about knocking on my door when they feel like it.
