What lies have you told in your lifetime?

Someone once put me on the spot and asked me what my hobbies are, so I panicked and said I was good at basketball (I'm not). We're now best friends and I'm hoping she has forgotten :facepalm:

I lie about my age to the street people so they don't bother me

White lies are fine by me..helped make my kids have a magical childhood.
Also saved a lot of hurt for a couple of friends over the years.

I'm a terrible liar so I've not told any good ones in recent years. I use to lie to my parents alot when I was a teenager though, saying I was going bowling and staying over at my friends when we'd actually be going to a pub and that sort of thing.

A funny one my aunt told was when she started seeing the guy who she eventually ended up marrying she lied about her name (her name is Irish and she was living in England and she was sick of repeating and spelling it etc) I think it was months into seeing eachother that she eventually told him :laugh:
