She will be ignored, she will be underestimated, and be undervalued. But not by me.
I’m not with that. She is brilliant.
Right now she is PLAYING TO WIN THIS GAME. Were she a white man she’d be hailed as a major threat, someone to watch, a Survivor legend in the making. However, she is sidelined and disrespected by the bloggers and the Survivor basics on blogs. I’m not here for Dalton Ross’s sexist and racist jokes anymore.
Some troll’s comment is an opinion that is reflective of a deeper issue: racism and sexism. Disrespect. Refusal to see.

Undeniably, Tasha was a fan favorite. I believe this is in part because she wasn’t a typical Survivor pick. Survivor producers have a soft spot for casting black women that will reinforce stereotypes about blackness. You know “lazy” people, “angry” people, “crazy” people. A well-kept secret: People hated Earl’s season because all three finalists were black. Oops. That wasn’t supposed to happen.
But no, Tasha was not the Sapphire or the Mammy, she was strategic, athletic, and very good at her social game. She was voted back into Second Chances for a reason. But Tasha will not get her due and I am HERE TO RESTORE HER GLORY. Mmk? Spencer, for some reason, stated that with his relationship with Shirin, prior to her ouster he had finally met someone he could play the game with and trust. I see you and your disloyal ass, Spencer. I didn’t forget how you only played with Tasha out of necessity and not because she was clearly your ally during your original season.

Tasha I hail you. You’re a BOSS.
You pulled the short straw in the tribe switch. New tribe, new camp, in the “minority”, and stuck with the guy who has the privilege of sharing how sad and upset he is, like constantly, without being seen as whiny, ungrateful, and annoying. He has that privilege.
But your WAY is that of a queen, a goddess. You did not complain about the tribe switch. You said you would make the best of it, you came to win. You have the optimism of a winner – you gone find a way.
You exploited the cracks in the group. Abi, desperate to feel wanted, to feel desired, quickly jumped shipped when you promised her allegiance.
You took a risk. After the challenge you could’ve kept your mouth shut about Varner’s surreptitious signals to Kimmy. Jumping up in front of him, yelling “Ay – we got a rat!” was strategic. It wasn’t silly, overblown, or headstrong. It was MOVE. You let the tribe know that he was not to be trusted. And he APOLOGIZED FOR IT. Varner admitted it was a bad move and scrambled to stay on the island.
You and your new partner-in-crime found your way from the bottom of the heap, “in the minority” as they kept saying, to holding court as decision makers. Varner was cunning to point this out. Yet the skill with which you executed this was more cunning.
Tasha, I SEE YOU. You have the heart of a winner. You are brilliant. You are so strong. And yes girl, I see them natural curls looking like the product of a fresh twist out. I’m still in awe that you’ve evaded the ravages of salt water. But it makes sense because, as I said, you’re a goddess.
When Natalie won, it was largely ignored as unexceptional. But I saw that for what it was. She was, as you are, strong, cunning, and a woman of color. But you will not be ignored and overlooked this season by the audience. I will make sure people see that Tasha is a force to be reckoned with.
