Oh look he's picking on Janice again during the task. What a surprise. I guess that is James fault as well?

By raising his voice, smacking his hands together and thumping the desk? :umm2:
Austin has NEVER handled Janice well, yet most of the others didn't seem to have a big problem with her (apart from Jenna). They just let her get on with it.

Yeah, Austin/Jenna (can't remember who it was, I think it was both of them actually) said that she was just disagreeing with everything to make herself look appealing to the public (even the rest of the housemates, like trying to make out Sherrie wasn't the most boring) and those were my exact thoughts too. Is he just supposed to sit there like the rest of them do? I know I couldn't be that controlled if somebody as fake and irritating as her was next by my side. Once again, he called her out on her bull**** so major kudos to him.

That's not really a good excuse. He was very rude, impatient and shouty at Janice. I'm sure she can be annoying, I'm sure all the batty grandma's and grandpa's in old peoples homes can be annoying but would you like your granny spoken too like that? Treated with impatience and disrespect because she's a bit eccentric? Called names, not listened too, shouted down. I wouldn't. Just because Janice is a bit batty doesn't mean she is worthless and has no feelings.
The irony is that age, and often a bit of battyness will come to us all. If treating people like that because they are elderly, or a bit mentally challenged is OK, are you looking forward to your turn?

We all have things in our life. Austn isn't the only man in the world whose brother died and who has a dysfunctional mother. If we are talking mothers, I could tell you a few shocking stories about mine. The thing is though we don't all act nastily to others. It's incredibly annoying when people take the attitude that what he does it's OK because he's had a hard life. It isn't OK.

You don't need to patronise me regarding the elderly and disability (i don't like the term mentally challenged).
Janice is not 'mentally challenged', she is deliberately winding Austin up, just as everyone is saying that they all can't be saying the same things about Austin and be wrong, well ditto about Janice. FYI i never said she was worthless and had no feelings, they are your words.
I look after and defend vulnerable young adults and have a respect for my elders, which hopefully in my old age will be delivered back to me, i've never advocated Austins behaviour towards Janice, if you look back on my posts i've said how disgusting his behaviour was.

I'm so pleased you are qualified to diagnose Janice as fine and just a wind up and its great that the gang agree with you about Austin, it must all be true then. Now you've been patronised, enjoy.
I've worked with vulnerable children, many with asbergers and autism in schools in a teaching capacity. I've had a disabled father and a granny who was batty as a hatter with dementia. See we both have credentials.

I know I was just trying to make a point. She is also pretty damn limber for her age. I hope I can do that with my legs when I'm 60!
My take on Janice is that many years of alcohol abuse (she's said she was an alcoholic) and probably drug abuse have addled her brain a bit making her a 'character'. I'm sure there is a medical condition that describes her but I dont know what it is. I think she is still smart enough to play the game and she does play it but she is also a little crazy so its not all deliberate/intentional when she acts up, blurts things out and acts generally bananas.
The US housemates with the exception of Scoop had no patience with her. Everyone else seemed to enjoy her for who she is.

Why do people always think you are picking on them when you have a different view?
I think she's nuts as well, what I don't like is defence of Austin when he treats her poorly. It doesn't matter that she's nuts, she's a hoooman bean.

Because you focused your attention on me, when other posters in this thread also supported Austin and bad mouthed Janice.
FYI I'm entitled to my opinion and i hope Austin wins.

I've never known any elderly woman to act in the way that she does before. Sure some of them can rude and annoying, but Janice is on another level.

No way Janice is 60 though, I'm pretty sure Sherrie is older than that, and Bobby can only be a year or 2 short of it. I would say its pushing it to say Janice is under 70 in reality.
edit: Sherrie is 65, and Bobby is 57

I think she's 60. This photo was taken in 1976 which would make her 21 if she's 60 now, she looks about 21 there

janice thought if she disagrees with everything austin and jenna will say, she'll be saved by british public. how wrong she was. lol. she was too much. she was constantly passive aggressive with austin and jenna and provoking them. now she's gone, everyone can take a breath in the house.
