Football fans do not suggest that say West Ham manager Slaven Bilic made the world, made the uiniverse, invented people and is all powerful and there is nothing he cannot do.
They more just hope he can keep west ham in the prem and maybe win a cup
Its not the same

the concept of faith is that you choose to believe in something with absolutely no evidence to support it, right? I totally understand it.

Well I hope you feel better now you got your anti religious dig in despite hundreds of families and friends being affected by this, must be great to be you.
Religion caused the deaths and the sooner people realise the better. Hopefully it will save lives in the future. I make no apology for digs at a disgusting affront to humanity that is organised religion.

As a rule I would agree with this in the main, I'm not the biggest fan of organised religion either. Yet I don't feel they should be denied compassion and empathy because they are religious.

I will pray to MY God for these poor people and their families.
If any terrorists were among them then may they rot in hell, but a faithful Muslim does not equate to an Islamic Extremist, and I feel for these people because it is just as tragic as if they had been Christian, Jewish, or Atheist. RIP.

The point we are making is that they are dead because of "God"
Its a point worth making or all you get is 2 pages of RIPs
this is serious debates and not some remembrance book
They people were going to a wall to throw stones at it as it represents "the devil"
Surely that is worhy of debate as is their pointless deaths

This kind of tragedy happens so regularly there. The definition of madness is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome. Despite the billions the Saudis claim to have spent, they need to have a rethink.

Yes something to do with roads being closed to facilitate a state visit. I think it is a bit insensitive of the Health minister to immediately blame the pilgrims when all the facts are not known as yet.
Thanks all btw

'Saudi Arabia is under increasing pressure to improve safety for pilgrims in the wake of the deaths of at least 717 people in a stampede outside Mecca at the annual Muslim hajj.
More than 850 people were also wounded in the crush during the symbolic stoning of the devil at Mina, the worst tragedy during the hajj for 25 years. It was the second deadly accident affecting Mecca worshippers this month, after a crane collapse in the holy city killed more than 100.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has ordered an urgent safety review into the causes of the crush, to be chaired by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef. Salman admitted there was a need “to improve the level of organisation and management of movement” of pilgrims, amid pressure from two of the most influential Islamic nations, Iran and Indonesia.'

This has been going on for years. It's a big money event and they have ignored safety fears for decades. This could have been avoided by limiting attendance but pure greed is what is causing countless sad situations like this at this event year in year out.
