Those were the days.
Use to beg my dad every Friday in like 2009-10, and then if he said yes beg him to get some sweets there.
It was so fun, we'd always go if we had sleepover with friends.
Now it's go on Netflix, iTunes or go online.
I've stopped buying films in hardcopy now and just get them through iTunes and stream them on Apple TV.
I miss Blockbuster <3

I was terrible at brining them back, but the guys in the store didn't care if it was late <3

Now you can just watch anything on the laptop <3
Bless the Blockbuster.
I said to my dad once: "I want to work in Blockbuster when I'm older, that will be my first job." <3

Yeah it was hard enough just pressing record but trying to set the timer required a degree! And don't get me started on video plus codes or whatever they were....

I used to go there every Saturday with my parents to rent PS1 games. I always remember that Mortal Kombat Trilogy was one of the games I'd always rent, I'd never get bored of it. A lot of my favourite PS1 games were ones I found in Blockbuster.
This topic also reminds me of a shop owner from my childhood. He used to run the shop near my nan's house and he had a VHS rental section and I'd always get my mom to rent Muppet's Christmas Carol, Aladdin and Lion King literally every week. Eventually he decided to sell up and he sold all the videos but he held on to those four and he gave them to me and I remember being so incredibly happy. I've always remembered that act of kindness.

Used to go quite a lot tbh we once got given a voucher for a free DVD every night for a month :flutter: we went most nights then because it was like 2010/11 and the days before Netflix etc.
The blockbuster ice cream was also better than any other ice cream I'd ever had >

They did Cookie dough and Millionaires shortcake also.
Cookie dough one was quite good but I don't like millionaires shortcake so never tried it.

I miss my local Blockbuster. The geeky guys in there knew what I liked and would recommend films and games and always have a chat. Shame...
