Turn up the fire and put Mozart or Shcumann on the stereo, then settle down on the sofa and take small sips - savouring each one and holding the glass up to the flickering firelight in between sips, so that I could delight in the deep ruby glow of the wine......

I'd have a nice glass and think, I might have another... but by then I'll realise one glass is probably enough, that I don't actually want any more and end up tipping it down the sink. Which is why I don't open wine when I'm alone. Unless it's red wine... then I'll freeze it in ice cube trays and use it for cooking. Many a mickle makes a muckle, LT.
