This Nice Lady
was in the Royal Albert Hall in 1970
..I don't think it would work now with all of the availability of cosmetic surgery etc and the damaging aspirations to be face and body perfect...so no, let's not bring it back please...

I agree Ammi. There would be violent protests if they did from some of the lunatic fringe, but the competition is meaningless anyway, and always has been.

Arista... Miss World does not celebrate women. Miss World is a celebration of the superficial for the titillation of men. If you want to celebrate women, maybe now we've passed the Millennium we could celebrate achievement; acknowledge women who've contributed to a particular field, science or medicine for instance, rather than how bangable she is.

It Does Celebrate Their Body and Mind
"bangable" can never be stopped
But the point is to show how Clever Women
can show their Body to the World

I'm okay with it as long as we can have a parallel competition with clever men showing us how clever they are by wearing tiny tight speedos that show their b*ll*cks off.

"Ooooh Matron", I'm up for being a contestant. It will need a very wide sash to cover my massive assets though. :hehe:

 My point exactly - I could nip out now and find three genuinely prettier women who have better bodies, from the shoppers at my local ASDA.

A girl I was in school with Amy was in Miss World, she was also a Gladiator when it was brought back on Sky1.
Also, a woman who lived about 2 mins from me a few villages away WON Miss World, Rosemarie Frankland.
