View Full Version : Big Brother: Power Trip GOES INTERNATIONAL

Despite the low buzz surrounding the UK's Power Trip series last year, international formats of the hit show have been hot on our heels (as typically) to snatch our theme.

Veliki Brat, the Serbian version of the show relaunched with a 'Power Trip' theme and knock-off titles similar to our own, about a minute into the show. Furthermore the set is near on par with BBUKs.

Elsewhere Big Brother Sweden has announced they to will be airing an autumnal version of the show called 'Power Game', using the symbolic Channel 5 designed eye for the first time since the shows inception. A combination of our Power Trip eye and BBAUs White eye.

Elsewhere VIP Bulgaria's sequence titles includes many small clips of BBUKs old titles, all of which come from the Channel 4 series. I'll try and find the link to this so you can see that too.

It seems the wrath of Channel 5s 'themed' series are making big bucks with the rest of the world, are we likely to see timebomb and secrets and lies repeated in international formats too?

I actually loved the idea, the execution was just crap.

The diary room is exactly the same too. In guessing despite Power Trips ratings being a loss, Channel 5 are raking in profits from selling it to other countries!

To be honest it could've been a good format/theme, but Channel 5 couldn't even do it right.

Power Trip was actually a good theme, but it was executed appallingly.

Same goes to Timebomb (which is probably the best C5 theme on paper, imo)

I think on paper Timebomb was the best, followed by S&L and then Power Trip (you are right it didn't sound that bad). But in the way it was executed:

1. Secrets and Lies

And the other two are 40,000 miles away.
