Good news except the police forces said they won't follow through. Murderers and drug dealers to catch. Sign of the times.

Only non-decent parents would. If they wanna smoke then fine do what you want, but doing it close to your child's little lungs is disgusting. I saw a woman doing it in a carpark once, felt so sorry for her kid

I used to think that no one would be so stupid and selfish as to smoke in a car with children, then I saw someone doing it, with the window open a tiny crack and two toddlers in the back - while her partner filled up with petrol! So yeah, it's a good idea because sadly, we have to legislate for the most idiotic.

Although whilst I really could never condone someone smoking while kids are in the car I think the under 18 tag is fairly ludicrous up to 16 would be fine, a lot of 17 tear olds can drive themselves, :shrug:and in view of the recent emissions debacle and how seriously polluted the atmosphere is the government really need to start fining themselves for not getting their own house in order, this is really a way of collecting revenue rather than a public health issue IMO

Glad it's been written into law although it likely won't be enforced. The fact that it exists will hopefully give idiot parents a clue and not smoke around their kids.

Police have been unable to enforce this as the tools are not in place to do it, and they are unable to issue tickets :umm2:
