I've got to the point now with cold callers that i welcome them and sound excited (in a patronizing kinda way lol) that they have chosen me to read their scripted bullshyte too. I say hang on a mo please as i have a call on my mobile brb one sec ok. Then i pretend to be talking on the mobile loud enough so they can here me say... Yes police officer they are here on my land line again,can you please trace the call now. They soon sod off when i do that! :joker::joker::joker:

You should ask where they are calling from and for the name of their company. If they are calling from anywhere inside the EU from the EU they have to follow the ICO guidelines. This means when you ask to be removed from their calling list and your data mustn't be sold on to other marketing companies, they are obliged to follow your instructions. If you don't do this, they just keep selling your information on and you will continue to get cold calls.

If they are outside of the EU there is absolutely nothing you can do about it because they are a law unto themselves.

..no they should not but the person on the other end of the phone was just given those numbers to call...and not the person to be angry with ..which I do understand as well though and I think everyone feels frustration sometimes with cold calls but there is a number to dial to stop them so why not do that instead of making threats...

Despite being registered with TPS I still get cold calls sometimes. While cold calls are really annoying I try not to take it out on the actual person calling. It's a rotten job, I wouldn't want to do it, but if I needed a job I would. I wouldn't want people being rude to me because I was trying to make a living.
