I didn't know it was coming out day today tbh. But its so weird to think that I'm actually out to my family now. It's so relieving... words cant ever tell how nice it is to finally be out of the closet

Have you not?? I'm quite surprised by that. Do you think your family could tell? Would they be okay with it if so?

If your family are accepting and you feel ready, I think you should do it :)

For me, I felt 'weight lifted off my shoulders' quite literally.. felt soo happy that day.

I guess I'm kind of out or at least, I don't make any effort to hide it. If someone asks about my orientation, I'll tell them but I don't broadcast it unless I'm asked about it first.

Well done to anyone else who came out today though.

Touchy subject for me really. My family don't know but they've never asked. I don't deny it but it's just something I don't feel is necessary to "announce".

I don't know if I want to come out, not because my family isn't accepting or anything, but because I'm hoping that it'll be enough of a norm in society to just be with a guy without any shocks; I hope I've described it right?

I don't even remember my coming out story. Guess they didn't really care.

... to you all really..no matter what the relationship with parents and how close it may be, it can be so, so hard and awkward to talk to them about anything romantic or sexual so this must be so terribly difficult for many...

This makes me so happy

I've hoped for a long time that coming out makes you grow as a person, now I just need to build up the courage to do so.

We shouldn't have to 'come out', I know what you mean. Some people find comfort in that though, so it's up to the person I guess.

Idk, my sister has given hints that she knows and stuff but I'm not sure, my parents are quite old fashioned, they say they wouldn't care, but then you can hear them making snide comments about gays and stuff so it's just confusing, I just don't feel comfortable with them knowing yet, if people ask me I don't deny it, but in general it's not something I like to broadcast, plus the idea of my parents knowing I like peen makes me physically cringe.

If this helps,

Emotional feelings toward same sex = homoromantic
Emotional feelings toward opposite sex = heteroromantic

Physical feelings toward same sex = homosexual
Physical feelings toward opposite sex = heterosexual

Usually with the "x-romantic" thing, most people feel like they don't need to say that unless it's different to their physical feelings. (you can also get biromantic, panromantic, etc.)

I don't want to define myself :joker:
I'll just carry on how I am, and if I like someone, sweet.

That's perfectly fine too!

As I said before, some people are more comfortable with labels. So if you're not one of those people then go ahead and you do you.

I think we're on that path Liv :)

Give it maybe 30-40 years, then I think we'll be there.
