What happened to her? Her solo album was incredible, I know it didn't sell well but it had a lot of acclaim so why hasn't she done anything since? I google searched her and the most recent news about her is that she got a parking ticket. Wtf?! COME BACK NICOLA!

Tuna shade?

I haven't seen much of her in interviews tbh but I don't mind if she doesn't have a personality. She's very talented

Her album sounded like the soundtrack to Pacman.

Her album sounded like the soundtrack to Pacman.

I think the production was intentionally simplistic, which I prefer so much more than overproduced, factory sounding music (like cheryl's for example) and I think it paid off. Maybe not in terms of sales but definitely in terms of showcasing her talent as a writer and the craftsmanship of the songs etc. It was more of a creative work as apposed to something intended just to fit in with the rest of the industry.

Hers did sound factory manufactured though.

But it fell off the conveyor belt halfway through. :fan:

I feel sorry for her bc she never got a main part in a song until Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me

I disagree that it sounded factory manufactured. I think she created something individual and followed her own prerogative regarding how it sounded instead of sheepishly trying to fit in with what normally clogs up the charts and I respect her for that.

She was definitely overlooked in GA and unfortunately that continued into her solo career. I genuinely think that if Cheryl hadn't become inexplicably successful, then Nicola and Nadine would be huge stars right now.

Lucky Day was one of the best pop songs of 2011, should've performed better.

I know she was supposedly in the studio some time earlier this year so I'd imagine new stuff will surface within 6 months?

I really think Girls Aloud fans overestimate her writing abilities and her credibility as an artist - yes, when you look at the self written, recorded and produced dirge that Nadine and Sarah wheeled out for their own releases, Nicola looks like a certified genius, but she's really average and her songs are about as complex as an egg mayonnaise sandwich because that's about as complicated as her mind is.
