View Full Version : Playing it clever
Do you think anyone in the house is playing it clever? basically is there anyone making sure they get on with everyone so they don't get nominated? or are none of them doing this?
Nowhere

Only Hm that comes to mind is Ian, though I think he's mostly being genuine.
Cleo, is far too dodgy with her stance

Cleos playing it very clever.
She lost alot of my respect when she voted Shilpa FIRST and voted her anyway. Cleo should not have pretended it was for Shilpas own good, as she can leave whenever she wants.
I dont trust Cleo anymore.
I feel Cleo kinda falls into this catergory. She likes people from both sides and just seems to want a peaceful house so that they can all get along and have fun but I do think she can tend to what to get people on her side and just go unoticed.
Ian also seems to want to stay in the middle and although he obviously does not like the views of some of the other housemates he carries on being civil and inoffensive so he does not become involved and unpopular.

Why?
According to the forums;
If you're nice to someone yet don't really like them you're fake
If you're honest but in a calm manner you're patronising and stuck up
If you don't take sides you're a fence-sitter
If you do take sides you're a bully
If you don't do any of the above (or below) then you're obviously a bore
And if you're aggressive you're a criminal that should be locked up.
bovvered?

Jack, Jade Jo & Daniella all voted for the same 2 people knowing that by putting in Dirk they would probably have a 3 person choice on Friday. I dont think they reckoned on Cleos or Ians vote picking Jade.
Cleo voted tactically if she had not voted for Shilpa, Dirk would be up !

im not saying nice people should be hated, if youve read my past posts youd know, what im saying is, in Cleo's neutral stance there has been slight unfairness on how she critisize shilpa harsha than jade, which seems slightly dodgy if your that neutral. Hence i said the word Dodge not completly fake and shes not a complete bitch.

I think Jade is playing the game the biggest.. with her dream and questions about eskimos.. but i don't think any of them are trying to be nice to not get nominated.. Cleo and Ian may seem that way but i think they are genuine, and just don't like arguments/bullies/etc.

Can you explain, I thought we were discussing if you thought that anyone in the house is playing it clever.
We need to understand your point of view to comment.

She's let her game slip a few times when drunk but other than that I'd agree as she's nice to Shilpa's face but sticks the knife in when she's out of earshot and she did not dare say to Jade she disagreed about some of the things that she had said to Shilpa.

Why are you getting personal? i am a teenager!
Danielle is playing it clever because she is all sweet to Shilpa and says she likes her and when she talks to Jade she says the opposite. ok? dont sweat it and get personal

Youve got a serious attitude problem Edwin just because youre precious Jade Goody has shown herself to be a pathetic moron.
You obviously have things in common with her.

I don't particularly like Jade, i'm just defending her because no-one else will. I'm not the sort who jumps on the bandwagon and slags off the 'public enemy' because it's popular opinion. I did it with Grace last year, and i'll do it again. I mean, what's the point in coming on a forum to read nothing but countless arguments about how 'awful' Jade is. This is for debating after all?
And about calling tinkerbell a teenager: why should someone just slag someone off without telling anyone why? It seems pointless to just slag something off and then not even say anything.. all she wanted was loads of people to join in and i'm not like that... I don't see the point in registering a bloody forum when you can't even express your opinion in a constructive manner.
And despite all of this, I actually really like Shilpa, what I don't like, however is the publics/press treatment of HMs in general.

To be honest I couldnt give a s**t about all these Devils Advocates that have turned up. I have the ability to be objective toward the events that Ive seen on TV, and when Im debating about it, the last thing I want to bother with is people lying about things or getting offensive with people who are already dealing with their own stress after what theyve seen that animal Goody doing in that house.
Im not saying you are responsible for any of the lies, but you have just ordered someone how to behave. Whats wrong, is Jades obnoxious attitude rubbing off on you whilst youve been thinking how to stick up for her?

I think Dirk is playing it very clever...nominating Jermaine because he is close to Shilpa.
I think Shilpa is playing it very well also. I dont think Ian or Cleo is playing the game they are just genuine people who dislike confrontation.

You can't order someone how to behave on an internet forum. I may have said it in an 'orderly' way but she can do what she wants in the end of it. All I wanted her to know was that I thought she was acting like a teenager and in order to have a decent argument you mays well back up an opinion with something

I think the. the question we are all trying to understand from all this is "what is racism?"
I think we all have different views on the subject.
The thing is we don't need the people in Government to tell us what to think. We all need to sort out what it is as a group and as a nation.
racism is a when the person victimised feels he or she has been : -
taking advantage of
abused
bitched and bullied about
becuase a vibe or a blatent overt suggests its the colour of her or his skin, or trates of race...

I personally think people can say comments with no intention at all of being racist alot of people are just not sure what is the politically correct wording. I dont believe any housemate is being intentially racist at all. Comments have just been taken the wrong way and blown way up out of proportion.

I agree with the government bit, but I think it's impossible to please everyone in society.
On one side you could be going into "PC MADNESS" on the other side you could go into "Racism".I just think we should find something in between.
I don't think the HMs have been racist, I just think they've used Shilpa's culture as a way of insulting them. It's like saying that Jermaine is American so he must love Mcdonalds and quizzing him on whether he lives in a trailer park or not. The blame lies mostly with ignorance, but I think BB should of intervened much earlier on...

no one has to say anything for there to be racism. humans arent that thick to see a facial expression, or feel a vibe, or feel body language.
these vibes and body languages were used to put shilpa down in her place. Becuase shes brown they think its easier to eliminate her from the game.

Yeah I agree.
The excuses I have heard on this forum to defend the racism, actually in some cases nearly contradicts racism as something that even exists.
There is racism involved, and anyone who says any different doesnt fully understand.
The most important thing is to not act like its the end of the world as we know it. Racism is just a word used to describe the concept of what is going on in that house. It can even be as extreme as examples such as the holocaust. Denying it is the worst possible thing that we can do, and to acknowledge it in small doses like in Big Brother is a very realistic way of being able to tackle and discuss the issue.
the same way your giving me a vibe that you dont like me, becuase of this disagreement. have you never felt vibes or body language from some one that doesnt like you for a paticular reason?
what about body language, and ostrasization. and the easy way of eleminating one constestant
insulting members is not allowed post edited - insult removed - U2U sent
i think jade is a rasist but not as much as danielle and jo's just an obvious bitch

I'd rather you not labelling me as someone who "doesn't understand" because I don't agree with your opinion, it's quite small-minded.
Racism, to me, is disliking someone for the colour of their skin before anything else. So for example hating Shilpa as soon as they lay eyes on her because shes Asian.
But what the "bullies" have done is mock her culture after they disliked her for other things, that is derogatory and offensive but not racism and seems to be based on mere ignorance rather than hatred.
edwin that fact you think rasism is that simple, "not liking someone for the colour of there skin" just goes to show?

No its not small minded. If you dont understand something, Im not going to play along like you can. Forget that.
if your still wining about them above obvious facts then ill piss of and let the night time crawlers post, becuase they think all the shilpa fans have gone to sleep, they think they can prove them selves right with less debate competition.
good night, and all iv gathered here is there are more rasists then previously thought

What is it then? Racism is IMO juding someone on the colour of their skin above anything else. The things they have said can be interpreted as racist, but I don't think they themselves are racist. Just ignorant.

Of course. But I wouldn't say they were racist because they had "bad vibes" Just because someone is Indian and they are not liked by whites doesn't IMMEDIATELY mean that the perpertrators are racist.

But that's big brother, people are going to group up, dislike each other and slag each other off. It doesn't mean it's racism. It can be bullying, but I find that a rather pointless argument considering the whole programme is engineered to create conflict.

I understand slightly what you mean, what you have said does make sense.
Some of the things that have been said can be viewed as racist comments, that is understandable, but I don't think they were racially motivated, they weren't said purposly/knowingly to offend/disrespect a whole culture/race - they were said through ignorance.
I think to say they are racist implies they don't like Shilpa because of her skin colour, and I don't think this is what they don't like about her.
I think they don't like her because she is the only other young woman in the house and she is very different to them in terms of the way she carries her self, they are jealous of her and have therefore bullied her. I think if it was an asian girl who was brought up in England there would be none of this.

Cleo is playing it clever, but not anymore the cracks are showing.
I don't think Cleo's playing any game.. she nominated both, as she genuinally likes both sides and wanted to play fair.
I think the only reason she voted Shilpa first and cried when she voted Jade was because she has formed a closer bond with Jade.
She is with Jade much more than she is Shilpa.
