Destiny's Child & Brandy to feature on new mashup 'The Girl is Mine'

Destiny's Child and Brandy will feature on a new dance mashup by 99 Souls.

The UK house duo will release dance mashup 'The Girl Is Mine' on November 6, ten months after an early version featured on Pete Tong's Essential New Tunes (via Chartshaker).

The track uses samples of Destiny's Child 2005 track 'Girl' and Monica and Brandy's 'The Boy Is Mine' from 1998. Hence the name, 'The Girl is Mine'.

Even though it's been around for the better part of a year, licensing issues may have been behind the delay.

@firewire The song itself belongs to Brandy, Monica was only a feature. The same way Beyonce had rights to "Dangerously in love" and put it on her debut album as well as DC's Survivor album. (the shade)
