Although Christmas is still 52 days away, that doesn't mean it's too early for the festive season to begin. In the UK, Christmas doesn't officially start until John Lewis unveils an advert that has social media excited with "all the feels".

The 2015 John Lewis Christmas ad is expected to debut online at 8am on Friday, November 6, according to The Telegraph - so brace yourselves for the grand unveiling.

The advert itself is still under lock and key for now, but it will no doubt include some sort of cute and fluffy message and a soppy cover version of a much-loved tune, usually an indie number of some sort.

In recent years we've had Ellie Goulding cover Elton John's 'Your Song', Lily Allen has done her take on Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' and Tom Odell did a stripped back John Lewis-ified version of 'Real Love' by The Beatles for last year's Monty the Penguin campaign.

Christmas is coming...

I'm actually giddy for it this year, I let it sneak up on me last year or I tried to forget about it and was running around like a nutter and got really ill :(

After seeing Asda's I have low expectations.

The coca cola ad is the main official one anyway, all these others have just jumped on the band wagon

It's a nice sentiment but really a million quid to make ? I'm sure JL could have done so much more for a few charities with that and still get the message across, it's all just seems about money, money and more money.

It's money well spent apparently as for each £1.00 spent on this advert, they will earn £5.00, I heard that little fact on the radio this morning :smug:
