I absolutely love the Christmas season, but I do feel like the ads started a tad early this year.

Still, I like seeing them. :hehe:

Yeah they are so annoying tbh, they only make me feel christmassy a couple weeks before christmas. It is currently 45 days till christmas.. it's a bit ridiculous.

I heard santa claus is coming to town the other day in a shop

I was in Debenhams the day before Halloween and they were all decorated up for Christmas. :umm2:

You have normally watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation about five times by now so I don't know how you can talk

An excellent point. The run up to Christmas is a very, very important part of the festivity, but this over-comercialisation actually ruins that run up. By the time Christmas actually arrives, we've had nearly 3 months of carols and trees and films and decorations.

It's like hearing a pop song we like played over and over again until we are peed off with hearing it.

It starts to feel a bit like Christmas for me when IAC starts which is next Sunday. I always feel it's around the corner then. I agree Christmas adverts shouldn't really be on till around mid-late November at the earliest

I saw a house with Xmas decorations outside it on Bonfire night on the way home from Manchester :umm2:

Nothing wrong with it IMO, it's just like a normal advert it's just got snow in the background or something

I don't mind them.
Just think a few of them are rubbish so far.
Lidl one is crap, Aldi one is okay..

..I guess that it's a bit like the sales all starting earlier and many offers before Christmas, they're all competing for trade, so getting their ads in early and having them shown a lot is important to them...

Completely agree!

I received my first Christmas card last night......i mean...c'mon:nono:

I also had to buy a bag to put my shopping in on Monday, and it was a big Christmas one:shocked: i asked if they had ordinary ones but they didn't so i was forced to walk through the town centre with a Christmas bag:cloud:

Don't be ridiculous.

I've watched a Christmas movie already. I might watch another one this weekend. It's not ridiculous it's just other people like doing things differently to you. I like getting prepared early, I don't think that should affect you.

Ashley what you do doesn't affect nor interest me in anyway and since I was replying to Matt who was directly talking about me then not sure how you would think I was talking about anyone else anyway.

You weren't talking about anyone. You are stating that it's ridiculous to be excited for Christmas in November. I disagree with you; insert discussion.

No I wasn't stating it was ridiculous to be excited in November, I made the thread because I'm sick of the ads and my reply to Matt was because he was directly saying to me that I have normally watched Christmas movies by now, which I haven't hence I replied ridiculous not to anyone else, not to you, not to you watching movies in preparation for christmas but in reply to me having watched Christmas movies already.

And on top of Christmas ads and paraphenalia from late October, get ready for SUMMER HOLIDAY adverts from Boxing Day. Even more annoying, they don't even allow us to get Chrimbo out of the way.

I love it all. The ads, the songs. It gets me in a Christmassy mood and so what if it's still six weeks away.
