bohemian rhapsody 40 years 11.11.15
let me take you on a adventure
more explosive then biology
queen are embedded in my mind like debenture
that's why number 1 is rhapsody.
£3500 to produce
to understand your will need a brain scan
your imagination will not reduce
can you see a silhouette of a man.
did it take long to construct
3 hours with paper and pencil
only freddie mercury could conduct
start the music video and MTV i will stencil.
the thunderbolts were very frightening
opera to rock did cause curiosity
the 4 faces was lightning
i was no poor boy spare in his life from his monstrosity.
40 years on and still fascinating
i am privileged to worship queen
if freddie was here what would he be calculating
like brian says, just happy he made music that's evergreen.

Great song, but even more overplayed over the years than Stairway to Heaven and Wonder Wall.

Only joking lol. Bohemian Rhapsody is a timeless classic and always will be 40, 50, 100 years down the line. Doesn't matter.

You know what really killed it for me? Not the fact that it's overplayed... but the fact it's my Dad's favourite song.

...it's funny how when we're younger/teenagers and finding our own identity etc ..the worst thing in the world is the thought of liking things that our parents likes and especially I think with things like music because in teenage years, music/artists etc are such an important part of our lives...but then, as we get older, we really don't mind at all and start to appreciate their music...
..there are a few songs that the boys hated when they were teenagers, just because their dad played them..(repeatedly..)..on guitar...but now they like lots of things that he likes...

My kids are the opposite, they love all the music we do, my daughter is always asking me for suggestions of stuff to listen to. I am pretty cool though so I don't blame her tbh :hee:

the only reason i know and love that song is because of Waynes World the movie in the 90's. it was funny.
The actual song and band are cheesy as hell though. it's a joke song, it's like on the same level as Meat Loaf.

This song was released 17 years before I was born and was a number one again a few months before I was.
It is a total masterpiece, worthy of its endless adulation and status as if not the greatest composition ever then it's certainly at the very top of them.
Freddie Mercury was an awesome talent and sadly gone from the music world far too soon.
Sheer brilliance this recording is.

When BR was number 1 i was hanging around the mean streets of East Kilbride as a wee boy
The pic below was on the town centre and the 2 stone sculpture things in the centre I used to play and play on. They were smooth stone and i recall i could never get up on the one on the right as it was too big and too smooth. The thing with the red curtains was I think The Mushroom, a restaurant and it was like Spaceage to me (EK was a new town so modern with roundabouts back in the day). Under that restaurant was a sweets kiosk where I once bought a Superhero chocolate bar that I genuinely believed would give me superpowers, but it didnt :bawling:

QUEEN... could never be overrated.
The song is older than me, but as a teen, all my friends listened, and my kids and there friends have all discovered and listened to it as well.
It is timeless :flutter:

Operatic Rock should be appreciated as it's a very rare form of Rock Music.
