Justin Bieber is currently trumping One Direction in the iTunes charts.

The singer released his latest effort 'Purpose' today (November 13) worldwide.

However, pop heavyweights One Direction also unleashed their fifth record 'Made in the A.M.' on the same day - prompting a chart battle.

At the time of writing, Bieber is currently placed at No.1 in both the UK and the US iTunes charts.

One Direction are at No.2 in both countries.
