View Full Version : MY FRIDAY THE 13th MIRACLE

I did not want to say anything until now, but in addition to the awful atrocities in Paris and the disaster in Japan and elsewhere, Friday the 13th was personally depressing and worrying for me and I have slept even less than usual over the past 3 nights as a result.

My young daughter was six months pregnant with her first child and set to make me a grandad  for the very first time, when suddenly, during late evening, she telephoned us from her home and complained of increasingly unbearable pain.

She was rushed to hospital and to cut a long story short, she was found to be ill and also started to give birth!

My daughter had canulas in one arm and in her leg, tubes here there and everywhere, and it was extremely worrying - more so when she actually gave birth to a 3 month's premature little girl who weighed in at just 2lbs 11oz !!

I have been a fighter all of my life, and my daughter is one too because she made what the Ward Sister said was "an amazingly quick recovery" and is now up and about.

That tiny, frail little baby girl must be a fighter too because in 2 days she has been taken off the 'critical' list and although still in an incubator, she is amazing all the staff at how she is improving.

I thank God that my child is alright, and that my Grand daughter seems as though she is going to be alright.

It is one horrible Friday the 13th I will not forget in a hurry.

Here are some photos of my little miracle God Bless her:

You'll have to remind me. Working 6 days a week. Can't sleep because obviously my body knows I'm up in 3 hours and has decided to not relax or sleep!! But yeah I'll keep an eye out.

Wow, bless you and your family kirk.

I remember that worry all too well when my youngest brother was born three months early and had to stay in the hospital for 5 months afterwards.

They look so tiny and helpless but yet they're much stronger than they look and are little fighters.

All the best.

I am a bit knackered - I've only had about 7 hours sleep since Thursday night. (No good for an old man like me )

I am pm'ing a reply to you though before I turn in.

I'll remind you.

...so many things became so unimportant on Friday and I've never had any personal bad luck before on Friday 13th days..in fact 13 is my lucky number...but I lost a gem/diamond from a very precious/sentimental ring that my OH gave to me...anyways, that's being sorted out but I lost a gem and you and your family found one, Kirk...

Sincere thanks to you all. It is warming and uplifting. Thank you.

I ave just had more good news; the hospital staff have take her off the ventilator because she is breathing by herself so normally - again they said this has astounded them that she should do this so early in this degree of premature birth, so I thank God for it.

My daughter is being discharged this morning (great news) but she is coming home to stay with us for at least a few months and her husband will flit between 2 homes. It's a bit sad that the baby will be kept in for, I believe 2 months, unless she continues to make her exceptional progress, which I am praying she does, but I would rather have her in the right place where expert help will benefit her the most.

I am still too young, dashingly handsome, and fit to be a grand dad  but I cannot wait to really fill the role.

I don't mind changing nappies and pushing a pram and being up in the middle of the night during teething.

Thanks to you all of you again. They have now actually moved her out of the IC unit and into a small side room because she is doing so well,

Makes you wonder how such a little tiny thing can fight so determinedly for life when so many evil bastards in this world just delight in taking lives.
