Not been on here in forever...
I'm getting married :D After 8 years me and Gav have finally decided to just bloody do it. 19th March next year, everythings booked and that.
For those wondering about my health issues..I eventually got my gallbladder removed after another stupid amount of A&E morphine trips. And guess what...it fixed nothing and made everything worse :bored:
What is apparently a very simple operation that they do hundreds of times a day has turned into a fortnight of horror for me, and has left me completely ****ed tbh. They cut my bile duct instead of where they were meant to cut. Then tried to discharge me when I was DYING (!) because of the staples/stitches all coming away inside. And now they want me to go back on my birthday next year to finish getting fixed. They can go to hell. Butchers...
And I still get the same damn rib pain that I got before, so it didn't even fix the original problem.
Anything new here?
Pete.

Not just ****ing it up, they actually nearly killed me. They were desperately trying to discharge me (with codeine, after I had been needing morphine like 5x per day?!) and one nurse said she disagreed and wanted a second opinion from a senior doc...got the second opinion and within an hour I was back down having emergency surgery...was critical for 24 hours too. Dicks.
Great to see you back and congratulations on the wonderful news, Vicky!

Skye and James are fine. Skyes at the age where literally everything results in a tantrum which is quite heard, and James has just discovered he can scream :laugh2:

QE hospital, Gateshead.
I am considering this actually. Though I'm battling with my conscience a tiny bit xD I have been told I may be entitled to between 4-20k if I did decide to go down that route :o
Honestly though, I just want to get ****ing better right now. I cannot eat anything at all without being ill. Yesterday I ate...AN APPLE...one...and I felt sick for 3 hours. Then when I thought it was safe, I ate some chicken soup, then a few hours later was sick again :( I still can't lift the kids without feeling like I am being stabbed. The amount of stitches I have means I have to be so careful playing with them too...its just awful. I get lightheaded if i try to do to much. Went xmas shopping last week and nearly passed out from a totally random pain that refused to leave and for the next few hours Gavin had to rent a bloody wheelchair from the shopping centre for me. Thats how bad it is...

Congratulation Vicky
...awww Vicky, I'm so sorry about your surgery and that you're feeling so much worse now after all you've been through...I know that you must have lost complete faith in the hospital/surgeon etc but you can't go on as you are and not being able to enjoy Skye and James because of how restricted you are...you really should insist to your GP that he/she refers you again to someone else because these awful experiences can happen but you need a way forward from this/health-wise.....
...great news about you and Gavin and your family, I'm so happy for you all......and about blooming time young lady...
...welcome back me dear.....
Vicky.
21-11-2015, 12:52 PM
Thanks :p
I don't really have much faith in my GP either tbh. He refused to give me anti-sickness meds to begin with, I managed to persuade him yesterday on the phone by pretty much having a breakdown on him :S He downgraded my pain meds as 'oxycodone can be addictive' even though they were working perfectly for me and have been the only thing that actually touches the pain...I dont giver a **** about being addicted to it..I'm realistically going to be addicted to something given how many meds I am on so may aswell be something that actually works. Luckily the hospital made a mistake with my perscription when discharging me and gave me 2 bottles of the oxycodone liquid instead of the one I was meant to have (was only meant to last a week) and have only been using it when the pains at its absolute worst...so have a full bottle left still that should last a fortnight or so..but dreading when it runs out and I have nowt again.

Hi Vicky! Congrats on the wedding hope you can stride down the aisle pain free
What a nightmare scenario you've had! how could they get such a straightforward OP so wrong? :(
Good job you are young and strong, you'll be able to bounce back don't worry, just take it steady xx

I know, thats what I am having trouble understanding, just the sheer amount of things that went wrong..just seems impossible. The main thing for me is...trying to discharge me when I was actually dying?! Thats just unforgivable. If that doc had got his way, I would have died at home with the kids
They did tell me there was a small risk of cutting the wrong place (about 1/100). Thats understandable with keyhole. Though apparently its hard for them to cut the wrong place if they know what they are doing..I have found out since, theres only 2 choices, and a surgeon paying attention should know which to do...
They also said there was an even smaller risk (1/500 I was told) of staples and stitches not holding properly. A smaller risk of needing a post op washout (1/10000)
So basically, all of these errors, I have more chance of winning the lottery 10 times over than then ALL happening :S
