Thought it might be an idea to have a thread for any media reports of possible security alerts within the UK.

'Security alert' at Blackfriars as police block roads

There seems to be a security alert much closer to home. A tweet warns that armed police are out near Southwark station, just south of the River Thames in London.

My colleagues are investigating this latest incident and we will hopefully have more details soon.'

It's a false alarm, shows how jumpy they are in the capital :/

'Police are now saying that the three men arrested on Blackfriars Road are suspected car thieves. Why they felt the need to deploy helicopters and armed units, and cordon off the area, is still not clear.
A statement from Scotland Yard statement says:
'At 13:44hrs on Saturday, 21 November, officers stopped a vehicle on BlackfriarsRoad at the junction with St George’s Circus. The occupants of the vehicle - three men - were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
They currently remain in custody at a south London police station. Roads have now reopened.'

Was one yesterday in gateshead..some absolute ****ing idiot had disposed of a suitcase full of fireworks right behind the Jewish school...whole area closed off and everything

They are saying it was a false alarm, but it doesn't seem it to me. What kind of twat would randomly do that, and with fireworks too...in the middle of a high UK terror alert :bored:

That would be great :) having a specific link would be great too, like big sister has mentioned there are all sorts of things posted on FB and such so a link would stop people having to search out how, what, where?...

Then when some idiot is doing that and it is being investigated out thoroughly a real terror situation arises elsewhere.

It is really fearful where all this can lead.

Thought it might be useful to post this link:

https://www.mi5.gov.uk/home/the-threats/terrorism/threat-levels.html

It's part of the MI5 website which shows the current terror threat level and includes the anti-terrorist hotline number. Y'know, incase you spot a terrorist

It's worth noting for those who get scared easily that although the current level is 'Severe' it has actually been at this level for a while, and other times in recent history where no attacks have taken place.

Obviously Youtube comments are generally terrible, but wtf at basically every comment being about legalising guns
