Unless people who "say" they believe explain what unequivocal evidence that they have that makes them believe its just a yes and no thread

My answer is pretty much the same for this and the magic thread. I'm a fence sitter basically. I'd say on the one hand that no, I don't actively believe it, but on the other, I'm open to the idea that there could be a lot of things we don't have the ability to understand because we're limited. Also, I've never witnessed anything paranormal myself so it's harder to believe in it when you've had no 1st hand experience. There's no evidence for or against so no one can really say with any certainty what the truth is I suppose.

There is no evidence against?

You could say that about any fictional thing

In order for something to be there has to be hard evidence

Otherwise you are a fence sitter on goblins, dragons, Clangers and Dementors

I suppose what I'm saying is that, if we're looking at this based on our way of rationalising and understanding things, then it's true that there's no evidence for ghosts/goblins etc and so logically it can be argued that there isn't a reason for people to believe. BUT that's all based on how our minds work, and how we perceive what's around us, but we know just from looking at other species and how we've evolved that there might be more to the world than what we're capable of understanding. So although I don't believe in spiritual things personally, I'm open to the general idea that I might be wrong, because we can't be certain that we are the peak of intelligence when it comes to understanding the universe around us.

Fyi, Clangers definitely are real. Santa told me :hee:

Yeah same here really, but I'm angling more towards yes in this case. I do believe there's more out there than most would think.

If there were ghosts and spirits, by now there would be so many around that it would be a common every day occurrence to see them - how come its not .... :idc:

This is why I always make sure my outfit is on point. Don't want to be haunting people in my trackies and a wifebeater.

Wouldn't you say that was the definition of a 'spirit'?
I'm certain I experienced my dads energy/spirit the day after he died.

What i mean is when ghosts appear to people do they appear in the outfit they were buried in? Do the clothes they wear die with them? And what if they weren't wearing anything at all when they die? Never heard of a naked ghost before. If a ghost is a dead person why are they always dressed? I dunno, stoned thoughts

yeah but by the same token they wear the same face as they had before they died even though that's also in the coffin along with their clothes

 B.S LT - You would NOT accept any evidence of this phenomena, and there are cases which have baffled even the most 'hard core' of scientists. You prefer to believe that EVERY one who testifies to having experienced the supernatural or paranormal is drunk, drugged, has poor audio-visual ability, is plain old 'mistaken', dreamt it, hallucinated, or are just ALL plain old liars.

Hell, I don't even believe YOU are real. :hehe:

I have never actually seen a ghost or spirit but I keep an open mind simply because of some incidents I cannot explain away and neither can anyone else.
Had it not happened near my presence, I would have probably dismissed it as not anything out the ordinary but since the incidents,I keep an open mind now.
